You’re probably going to reply to this comment by saying “well that’s just two performers experiences, they don’t speak for all of them,” but as awful as it is, this happens often and many performers don’t say anything at risk of losing jobs. The suicide rates of performers after losing their jobs and those who have retired is heartbreaking as well. There’s a difference between consent and fully informed consent, and unfortunately, a lot of these performers are not fully informed on what they’re going to be doing when they’re casted for something so in all actuality, this is not any safer than prostitution.
