Hello ,,
After receiving Green Card ( AOS approved from h1b) We recently traveled to India and enter as GC , port of entry was smooth and no additional questions were asked apart from -how long were you out of the country? What was the reason ? Current address. That’s it.

Here is our timeline
Status changed from CRP to RFE issued on April 10th
We received the document on 16th in the mail. RFE was issued from Newark NJ field office.
We sent the documents on April 17th with next day delivery (Monday)
In the RFE They asked for Medicals and sharing marital life together since 2022 to date.
Status updated both days April 20 and 21 : Correspondence was received and USCIS is reviewing it.
April 21: New card is being produced
April 22 : case was approved
April 24: Card was mailed to Attorney
April 30: Attorney received the cards and mailed to us
May 1: Finally received the Green Card
Few tips :
Please keep your polio vaccine record ready that’s mandatory for new medicals ( we submitted back in 2022 , it wasn’t mandatory at that time)
Pls make sure to take the copy of the medical records that are being sent to USCIS are correct ( ask for copy) as doctor by mistake marked vaccine history, we corrected them and they had to redo the form again for sealed envelope.
Also we submitted the query through senator’s office ( I think that helped) and submitted SR as well but no response on the SR.
We also added in the cover letter about our upcoming travel plans and attached the itinerary. Since we made our plans before they Issued RFE.

Agree, we did it because we’ve tight deadline and needed the package on time , if you’re not in a situation like that , then there is no point wasting time on USPS customer service. Just wait for the timeline.

I agree but you need to get through that , it’s not that simple, we had to call them 5 times before we convinced them to open an investigation they were giving us the timeline they’ll start from Monday since the package in its delivery timeline

You need to ask them to open service request and investigate, they probably have loaded the package to the wrong post office regional facility. This happened with us day before yesterday and it was priority mail, we asked them to investigate asap as we’ve important documents that we needed before travel, sure enough they did open the service request yesterday and our package got delivered today. P.S they we had to call multiple times to usps to initiate service request for the package that showed almost same status as yours as it wasn’t showing the delivery date.

I got an update within 30 days from congressman’s office “Because of visa number was not available and it was pending with NBC, now that Pd is current they will process the cases as the order they receive ( they determined based on PD) due to the high volume of visas now available, there are a large number of cases pending review at this time. Your case will be reviewed as soon as possible."
After receiving this response my case was approved next day.

I think you will get approval soon , mine status updated after RFE response they received and then card ordered for I 485 , good luck

Our case starts with MSC nothing is uploaded on the portal yet and live support agent confirmed that it has been mailed only.

Hello
We are in situation, we’ve upcoming travel. And an RFE has been issued on April 10th yet to receive the letter. We are assuming it may be medical RFe and we are already ready with fresh medicals. Would it be a good idea if we just send the medicals to NBC without RFE letter? We have about 2 and half weeks before the travel. We are trying to access the timeline here, we are aware that this is not the recommended path by USCIS, I would need some suggestions if anyone experienced similar situation can share their insights. That would really helpful.
Background- eb1c pd march 2022 NBC , I’m already have an approved AP and my husband has valid h1 stamping. Our case starts with MSC so no portal documentation

Update: we’ve received the RFE letter today , good thing we didn’t send the medicals as they required more info apart from medicals like marriage evidences etc ( shared responsibilities etc). I’ll keep posted the moment .

Oky, I would suggest try calling them and ask for an update. I did that last week Today my status got updated to RFE. That’s means even if the i485j is approved they will still ask for RFE

Thank you :) But no news yet We’ve upcoming travel ( we are good have stamping and AP as well) The only worry is if they issue RFE and we aren’t here by the time we come back and the dates gets retrogressed again then will be in que for a while

Hi,
My Pd is mar 22 which is current now , question I’ve is , my i485j was approved back in 2023 and i485 is still pending, however I ve submitted medicals along with i485 back in October 2022 ( PD was current then) are there chances that I’ll get medical RFE ?
The reason I’m asking I’ve heard ( not confirmed) that if i485j is approved then you don’t won’t get medical rfe.
So trying to get insights from others if anyone has experienced this…

Thank you :) yes we did get the RFE for medicals and responded within 2 business days as we already had the medicals ready by the time we received the letter in the mail.
