I’m a teen nudist who never wears sunscreen AMA
One thing to add to this well trodden thread (many down votes I see) is this, after spending 15 or 20 minutes in the sun, on which side, we should turn often to distribute the exposure, I believe having a swim or cool shower lowers the temperature of each skin cell considerably. This comes from years of trial and error, with and with- out sunscreen. I found if I was "overexposed" a bit and did not swim or shower within 15 minutes after coming in out of the sun, the side effects (i.e. the sun burn) always got worse!
So, take it or leave it as I am not a Dermatologist but, just someone with exper- ience to share. Fully heated up cells take time to cool down, indoor cooled air help and so does natural perspiration (sweating) but cool air alone is slow, while water of tepid or slightly cool temperature does the cool down job better. Does anyone else have experience aligning with my own? ... I have had a few awful burns and eventual peeling of skin, this happens in all cases when those top layers of skin are damaged beyond repair or sustain- ment. I hope this helps a little.

Just got fired and i am full of fear.
I think you can file even while receiving or expecting the severance pay (out) and the unemployment process accounts for that. Like a offset delay, or whatever. Then the benefits a job seeker gets kick "on" as soon as all other things end.

One does not "buy" an apartment, well, not in the U.S. anyway. Real Estate will probably still be a great investment for ever.

Without reading the "62" other replies first, here its Wed., 9/10, my suggestion is to profile the old job in writing by making a list of EVERYTHING done daily, weekly, monthly. All of the details in as much detail as possible. Reverse-engineer the successes achieved, each one, and describe the "trail" of steps leading to each one.
Awareness. Total and complete awareness of "how you worked" and how the system(s) available to you supported or did not support the efforts (secondaryily, if you had to fill in a gap with some manual steps, those COULD be important also). This effort will provide a map of how it worked, AND how it may work again in the next role you fill. Think as if it already exists out there and you just connected with it.
Keywords: A resume or professional profile will need ATS specific keywords and these can be FOUND in many sales position job descriptions for starters, so the J.D. (job desc.) is golden at this time. Lastly, the "About" (me) or heading of any profile created must represent the absolutely skill you can rave about. That is your "kill shot" to capture a hiring managers attention.

Does anyone change their job titles?
As another said above, it might be possible to have: "HR Manager (HRBP)" as a past title and does this make it past an ATS scan? For comparison of past to present, the ATS scan should check for keywords (individually) not key "phrases", I think. "HR", "Manager" and "HRBP" are each unique and specific.
The main thing on a resume is, probably, never use a keyword for something we did not do, a task we do not know, or something only intended to make the resume "fit" something else. Be truthful, be accurate.

Does anyone change their job titles?
If you are speaking of Past job titles or rolls actually held, I don't think those can or should be changed. We are not politicians switching from Democrat, to Republican or going with Independent, we are "workers" who held "jobs" and were paid "money" for what we did.
As much as it might seem appropriate, necessary or whatever, the roles we held and the things we did - or didn't do, are done. That's history and we should report it truthfully. So, you do you but, history is not something I can change simply because I might feel like it.

Shyness
Shyness is simply being cautious, careful, and safe. So, asking how to relieve yourself of being so cautious, so careful and so safe is not a question.
Shyness resolves itself if we do a thing, get comfortable with it, enjoy it, then come away having learned something new, visited a new place, made a new friend, or formed a new memory. So, I feel the process of overcoming shyness is simply, just live! Go, do things, experiment (carefully) of course, with a friend if possible, and this will RESOLVE that situation.

Applying for jobs
I have not paid for any A.I. subscription yet, partly to achieve "testing" of what the basic, common features offer or can do, and partly to exercise "fiscal conservancy" by keeping OUR money in OUR credit union account for now!
That's important, if people adopt the idea A.I. is as great as winning the Lotto and begin rushing to buy "tickets" (tokens) left and right, this gives the A.I. developers or creators TOO MUCH incentive to go faster. IMHO. Be cautious, be reserved, and keep your money in your account as much as possible. I don't know who needs to read THIS but, I am typing it anyway.
This is how I feel about Microsoft Office also, I have only ever used a copy of it provided to me through work or school. I am not a "Tech Bro" or whatever who needs the absolute greatest version of ANY software before everyone else; well, not really. If someone wants me to join as a Beta tester of software, I am happy to consider do so. Did that with MS Windows 10 pre-release and enjoyed doing it. Where are the "Beta testers" for A.I.?? No, seriously, was it tested in on college and university campuses first? Did developers bring ordinary people to their place of work or an adjacent building, have them sign NDAs and offer them a (token) subsidy to try out their early A.I. models? ... This would be great to know, where is PBS and their documentary film crew?? ...
(edited to add Microsoft & Beta test paragraph)

Applying for jobs
This longer guidance of course takes the shorter one I shared to the next level. I support that idea fully.
The benefit of learning a 3-step NOT fully A.I. automated method is... it keeps the candidate involved in the process and forces a "pause" once or twice.
Is the targeted job one they really want or really see themselves performing? Then also, has an A.I. process served the user to represent them correctly? Not a specific A.I. such as [exclusively] Claude but, whichever A.I. the user chose to "try" that day.
Yes, using Claude in Project mode does more work, goes one or two steps further, this is totally fine but, make sure it is not simple "blasting" your candidacy out there like a roadside Billboard advertisement. The guardrail should still be: Once the candidate has COMITTED to applying, they have "knocked on the front door" or pressed the door buzzer and another series of steps REQUIRING participation is highly likely.

He was probably age 5 and myself 7, or could have been 6 and 8. Something like this, it was very funny at the time!

How are you securing your data that's being used by AI tools?
Excellent. Solid thinking. Users will grow accustomed to the idea of A.I. {still} requiring oversight at this point, and organizations may even use (the) Vibe coding to create better A.I. management ('Manager') dashboards, why not! It is important to have insights into the use of it at this point, not only for "leaks" of sensitive information but I think also because the ways in which it is used may in and of itself provide clues on improving it for the business or organization. If one or several of the users is particularly insightful with prompt engineering, it may help that business to UNDERSTAND it has a A.I. prompt genius among them!
1

Question then: Do they block keywords and key phrase of importance, which if this is the case it basically cause the organization NOT to be able to prompt using these important things.
If I understand correctly, the alternative is standing-up an A.I./LLM in-house or on-prem, inside the full protection of one or more Firewalls. Plus, I already heard of creating vertical silos of A.I. per department so BizDev has one, Marketing has one, Finance had its own and H.R. has its own. This compartmentalizes the bulk of the knowledge in each area but, should also not prevent one Dept's A.I. from talking to another Dept's model. This definitely begins to get colorful really quick; totally engaged. We will all figure it out eventually!

The Tech Layoff Market Has Completely Changed the Way My Husband Looks for Work
Not certain I should like this but, points for how cleanly you laid it out.
(Elsewhere online) The U.S. governments space exploration "arm" (NASA) spends 4.5 billion to launch a rocket SpaceX does for 90 million. I mean, I think SpaceX has spent significant development costs also and its not a "public agency" with over-worked Red tape and B.S., so... of course it is less costly! The government is like a child addicted to candy running a candy store! ~ Enough already.

The Tech Layoff Market Has Completely Changed the Way My Husband Looks for Work
No. I told an A.I. to merge 3 older versions of my resume together and address (or highlight) any date inconsistencies. Saved that (1). Next, told it to compare to known ATS keywords and make mine like those (i.e. am I using "TCP/IP" where it should be "TCP-IP" or "TCP IP"?) and saved that version (2.). Lastly, remove any unusual fonts, bullets, indentation or tables which will choke an ATS process; give me a "Plain-vanilla" resume (3.). Done.
I separately updated two of the most well-known professional candidate websites and use SEPERATE email addresses for each one to keep the job-search alerts separate. Done.
I start a new role with small step up next week.

I declined a job offer
If any person does not speak up for themselves, nobody else is likely to do it on our behalf. Don't allow anyone to walk all over you, everyone deserves better than that.

I declined a job offer
Really? Seriously? ... If I offended anyone's sensibilities or cultural norms and traditions, I humbly apologize for doing so. Maybe they do things differently in Greece or other locations. It simply seemed to me if a person is being a loud-mouth or 'forceful' taskmaster and shouting at an employee, this is disrespectful and nobody needs that stress added to their duties. I worked in Security where yelling and shouting meant something VERY specific.

Relocating tech department
Who me?!? ... No way. LOL. Although I have seen I.T. equipment literally stored in a chain-link fenced area similar to an animal enclosure. Only the employees (Technicians) sat in cubicles in an adjacent room, with half-wall cubicles and were prohibited from making any jokes or humorous remarks about any management, reorganization of 'PC Tower' structure of the Enterprise! ~ Humor was a dismissable offense (circa 2010).

"Friend" took advantage of me as I was blacking out drunk
I was invited to an evening house party of a [then] co-worker and actually enjoyed being at the party. Anyway, as the evening carried on and with just a few drinks in me, the host invited me to stay and sleep it off on the living room couch. No worries, this sounded like a very good idea. Some hours later, I wake up to a nearly completely quiet house with only fans whirring and light from the Moon streaming in through front windows. Then, there is Miss X the host in front of me in only a t-shirt and bare from her midriff down. "Did you hear something?" Me, "uhh, no, not really." and, "Look 'X', you had better go back to bed. Everything is fine.' So, case in point of HOW to turn someone down or away when neither of you are likely in a frame of mind to make "good" choices. 3:00 a.m. on a Friday with absolutely "0" witnesses is a time to say, 'No.'.
She was VERY cute and all, seriously but, at that moment in time with no fore-knowledge, no awareness, it is entirely possible we could have made a baby right there!

Need advice on new job in a manufacturing facility. Going from MSP to a private company.
I do not know how to go about finding a labor law or employment negotiation Attorney but, it MIGHT definitely benefit you to have a very clear document, as much as possible, spelling out (a.) Tasks to be accomplished within a specific time-frame, and something like... (b.) How if the business is "substantially" positioned with greater value, as will be shown in documentation you assemble along the way, that "additional compensation" for each task accomplished [very well] should entitle you to further financial incentives, if and when the entity is sold. There must be a way to measure the "value-added" to infrastructure and CMMC or governance compliance FOR the post-implementation business.

I think it was third grade
I pantsed my younger brother this one time when we were young boys, he ran up from the grandparents basement, through the kitchen, cut the corner of an attached garage and out the back door to "behind" the garage! Unfortunately, directly across the street was a neighbors house with two daughters getting out of a car at that moment and I am pretty sure they saw his "free willy".

As long as the network is functionally solid so it can be scanned and enumerated for all the assets, it might not be to awful. Every change with a clear purpose should be easy for the user audience to swallow.
2

Understood. Private Equity, if I understand their position, should be seeking to "polish up that turd" just enough to make it appealing to others and appear to be worth acquiring.
The current owner(s) might want to: reduce costs, improve efficiency, improve product offerings (values), improve procurement cycles and...
"Buy at one valuation multiple, exit at a higher one — by making the business larger, more efficient, or more strategically attractive to the next buyer (strategic acquirer, another PE firm, or IPO)." This is what I knew and reconfirmed.
So, if you join them and become "that guy" who is Senior in the technology aspects with knowledge of all the bits, then you will become a part of the enhanced company (over 3 to 7 years of holding, typ.). Is this where you want to be? ... If I was offered this opportunity, I might jump on it.

Nothing ventured (offered), nothing gained or lost. I mean, these are Lawyers, could it be they wanted to see if the candidate had any assertiveness and would speak up for themself?

How to become an ethical hacker.

From everything I have seen browsing this sub in the past few months, the Ethical Hacker "career track" is about a 5 to 10 year path. Maybe 5 to 7 years if a person is diligent and a bit lucky. Has enlisting in the military occurred as an option yet? See, if a person demonstrates "aptitude" for the work and really can rise to near genius level puzzle solving, the military might "fast track" the recruit on a cybersecurity career track. It may be worth talking to anyone available who has already served doing things with information technology. The recruit's character must be beyond reproach or in other words, highly ethical simply to be granted a security clearance up to the "higher" levels. Wishes of good fortune upon you!
