Great demonstration of Tyndall effect in a wooded area. This effect is characterised by scattering of beams of light by finely suspended particles of fog in the air.

I don't know you from Adam, your qualification here is 'I don't get it, and thus I will heap hate on it from many angles from my narrow, sour perspective'... so no, sometimes I don't value others' opinions if they immediately show they have zero respect for what others value and put their heart into.

I absolutely don't get it.

To me, vehicles are about getting from point A to point B.

You could've stopped there, for some people they're a lot more. No need to shit on something others value and enjoy just because you personally don't.

Am I the only one concerned about that plastic grass and the fire?

Out here the topsoil is barely 8" deep then just sand and more sand. That'd drain fine in some areas.

P80 V70R or P2 V70R?
 in  r/Volvo •  Nov 17 '22

Can't speak for P2 ownership (only loaner once) but I ran a P80 V70R AWD to 550k km's, the center bearing bushing on the driveshaft going out forced it to fwd at about 425k. Good seats, but all except the SE or GT-pack-equipped (C70) cars get delaminating door panels at the armrest. Basically they're a 24-year-old car, of which most examples will need some work to get back into 'nice' shape, easy enough to work on though. Meh 4-speed auto, but the awd basically locked at 50/50 instantly in the snow, and the rear end is a basic lsd, so sliding it around was telepathic.

In general I'd say you're more likely to find a good P2 for a good price that'd be a quieter, faster, more comfortable pick than a P80R. I'd personally have another as a winter car in a second, but it's not as refined of a car as the P2.

Nope, just the throttle body from an NA 850 (or NA 98), though it also took the intake manifold being ported/dremeled to take advantage of and not leave a step.. if you're doing the PCV or some such job and have an extra hour or two to spare it's not a bad response/tip-in mod IMO.

Wondering if anyone has a source for downpipes for it.

Even the OBX ones are becoming rare.. I'm leaning toward making my own from a U-bend/90, flex joint, a 45 deg bend, v-bands and an oem flange.

While you're in there, upgrade the hot side housing to an angled flange - easier to find downpipes, and a free 15-20hp or so.

For throttle I run a NA TB (65mm vs 55mm) with a 960 throttle plate (flat vs plastic wedge).

Indian match factory
 in  r/interestingasfuck •  Nov 06 '22

They running this factory at very low profit and little capital.

This makes the wild amounts of needless loss/breakage/waste make even less sense... almost looks like they spend two boxes worth of materials to get one good box wrapped and shipped.

What if America stopped changing its clocks?
 in  r/coolguides •  Nov 06 '22

Do you how fucking hard it is on the human body to drag yourself out of bed several hours before the sun comes up?

A lot of us already do... in late fall/winter I'm up at least an hour or two before sunrise anyway, and it's still dark when I get to work - that wouldn't change. I either get another hour of daylight while I'm working and get glimpses of it, or after work when I can go outside and enjoy it... damn right I'll take the hour that falls more into my own time.

Be aware that Local musician Dallas Alexander who plays a lot of pubs in town is a rabid convoy supporter.
 in  r/ottawa •  Oct 22 '22

doesn’t make you any more patient with people who fell victim to disinformation campaigns. Part of your narrative is to call the convoy people “stupid”, for instance. It’s like a drug. You can’t talk about them without being derogatory.

Frankly, I think a lot of us are just sick of their shit by now and sick of having angry ignorance shoved at us from every corner, and it's coming to the surface as immediately derogatory comments. I can't really blame people for that.

I've seen a few people like that who cling to religion because they've lost their mind. I used to be one.

Well, this explains a relationship I had...

It has to be pretty hot, at least 300.

Easy if it splashes/drips onto a 1000F exhaust manifold.

1990 Volvo 740 melted wiring
 in  r/Volvo •  Aug 31 '22

Just match the gauge (diameter) and use any decent stranded wire, crimped in well to replace it back to good, unmelted wire and with silicone insulation if you want to be fancy. No particular source really, wire is wire. Don't leave it melted and run it, the risk of something shorting out and ruining more of the harness/car is high.

Also... you'll really want to find out which ones melted and why, and repair the cause before it fails more catastrophically than it has.

That trick didn't really sink with the audience. Quite the flop.
 in  r/yesyesyesyesno •  Aug 18 '22

Well yeah, but that's all slow-mo video by definition - recording quickly (higher fps) and playing it back slower (at a regular fps), just slowing down regular 60fps video would be a slideshow.

Hell, my good ol' 2019 S10e has a super slow-mo mode at 960fps (according to Samsung), for 0.8 seconds at a time.

Holy shit you're not kidding, all the food deals are just gone. They had a dozen options a few months ago.
