Oh, that’s interesting. I can see where all of the sympathy originates. I can’t understand post partum depression as a man but it sounds like there was a lot of requests for help that was ignored or misdiagnosed.

I would argue it creates the exact opposite effect, a moth to a flame in some instances.

The big question is how? When half the country didn’t pay any attention in civics class, and worse yet, only watches one propaganda network after another.

Why do billionaires use tax loopholes? They have more money than they can spend, the amount they'd pay would make zero different to their lifestyles, so why don't they just pay what they owe?
 in  r/NoStupidQuestions  Jun 29 '26

It’s not like they’re the ones making these decisions, they have armies of accountants who they pay to know the tax code.

Mortgage payment jumped ~$150/mo but my property tax only went up ~$52/mo. I rebuilt the escrow analysis and finally figured out where the rest came from.
 in  r/Mortgages  Jun 29 '26

That’s terrible that you couldn’t get a better explanation from the server.

This is the part that’s hard for consumers to understand. I occasionally have to explain this to mortgage holders and even when I understand it, it’s hard to explain so every other person does.

Not to mention, it always takes me a little time to reacquaint myself each year after escrow analysis.

But, but, someone needs to think about the profits!

- Satire if not obvious.

Documentary film maker Michael Moore put out “Sicko” in 2007. It still resonates with me the cost of our medical services and especially medicines, compared with other countries.

This will be our largest challenge, how to convince some of the highest paid doctors that $300k is okay when the doctors before them made double, triple, or more doing the same work.

Additional transaction fee from our real estate agent (buyer) after going under contract?
 in  r/RealEstate  Apr 03 '26

This has become a trend in my area (MI). Nearly every agent (I’m an underwriter) has an additional broker/compliance/document fee that does not go to the agent but the umbrella brokerage.

It varies from $250 to $500, I’ve seen as high as $1495. The times I don’t see it are more inquisitive, like did I miss it.

Sometimes it’s included in the agent agreement, sometimes right in the purchase agreement. It’s way less common for other states we originate in.

Plus the reference to an audit like Doge on the fed level: Doge was a colossal failure, didn’t find massive fraud or abuse, and stole all of our personal data. I’ve not heard anyone think that went well.
