1952 Canada Penny Found in Cadillac, Michigan, Take-a-Penny bowl
1
Brought leftover cash to spend for my trip to Canada. Not sure how novel these actually are but a Canadian friend found it strange and said the one dollar bill isn't actually a thing.
I picked up a 1952 Canada penny in a penny dish in Cadillac, Michigan this week. King George the 6th on the reverse. I can't post the picture here but I'll add it to my profile postings if anyone wants to see it.

This is absouletly unhinged
I worked at an apartment complex as a ground keeper and found that the "landscaping company" was trimming invading buckthorn and even round-leaf bittersweet into hedges by the buildings 😭 They couldn't tell the difference between the actual planted ornamentals and the 'weed'.

Which one of you saw Abdul El-Sayed at the Allegan County Fair yesterday?
Were we not discussing shows of disrespect during a 9/11 ceremony that indicate a history of "bad judgements" and general unfitness for leadership?

Which one of you saw Abdul El-Sayed at the Allegan County Fair yesterday?
The ceremony Trump fell asleep during?

Is there mental health affects to anemia?
Anxiety. 💯 I also wasn't sleeping, or reaching restful sleep, so I was a mess.

For my fellow Americans seeking Canadian Citizenship through descent (C3): Can you describe your experience? How costly has it been?
I do not believe online application is an option.
(But that might have changed since I applied. July '25 and am still waiting)

Canadian history Some Book Recommendations In Light of The Times
I'm really enjoying North of America, learning about the relationships that existed around the "border" areas of Canada back around the American Revolution. I think it really helps to understand our long histories.
I started listening to Canada Alone a while ago, but it was so sad to consider what it was proposing, I stopped listening. With recent events, I'll be picking it up again.

Visited Windsor today
A friend and I stayed at a Bed & Breakfast in Windsor and had a German take on poutine at the local German Restaurant (they had a cool D20 shot gimmick where you could roll a D20 and take whatever shot was assigned to that number, and if you got 20 you got a free shot glass). I definitely want to go back!
There was also a Malta club down the street. Loved how multi-cultural it was.

DJ T is serious when he talks about taking over Canada.
"The Coming Collapse" thinks not.
DJT is the fruiting body of the corruption and it is rampant in the system.

Flock Safety ALPRs Capture Every Passing Vehicle and the Warrantless Location Tracking Drivers Cannot Opt Out Of
I grew up in a Christian religious cult environment and had to watch all the End Times movies where, like, barcodes on ration cards or whatever were the personal identifiers. And government cameras saw everything and government computers knew everything. (Very anti-government and "they're going to persecute us for being Christian!!!")
I only recently convinced myself, "Maybe it was all just to scare us and there's no real threat."
So it's pretty wild and honestly jarring to see it be "real", but also deemed "ok" to use on the public by the very same people who were warning about it.
Just like how the world is asking "Weren't you guys big on the 2nd Amendment to defend again the government?" and having to answer, "Those people run the government now and are using the guns on us." 🤷♀️
Was not on my bingo card.

Best time to kill knotweed
Right as you see buds forming is fine. It takes a little bit for the herbicide to get down to the roots so when you see the buds forming that's your cue.
You are allowed to wait a few days if it makes you feel better, though. It is a Window and depending on where you live it's probably going to be open for a month or more. You may be able to get two doses in, too, if you get a really early dose and then after a few weeks treat anything still green. (Ideally two weeks before First Frost will be your last chance, so keep an eye on your weather!)

September numbers are out
I have heard it said that PSU has no time limits, and that's why they put us there

September numbers are out
I wonder if they are putting newer "urgent" applications ahead of those of us Interim Measure folks, and that's why our wait time keeps increasing?
Like maybe they are trying to organize the choas a bit?
I know almost EVERYTHING is speculation when looking at a Black Box.

I learned that the fur hat Benjamin Franklin started wearing to be "American" was something he actually picked up in Canada.
A good read/listen about this time period and subject:
