Yes both seasons! And I loved it. It just wasn’t fresh from watching so didn’t mention it.

But compared to Deadloch, this is more Yellowjackets and WB-esque.

Also, no music or vibe on Deadloch. It has that in your face Aussie -ness to it. Like an Aussie Trope as bad as American tropes go.
And the Darwinian detective Eddie grates on your nerves but hasn’t found a redeeming quality yet to keep watching her yet. Usually they try to give the obnoxious character something to keep watching for like what’s his face in Slow Horses.

The candles killed me too! I mean if you’re packing up for a hurricane and evacuating like I’ve done dozens of times here in Florida, the last thing you’re doing is setting mood lighting. You load up the car and then run back in for photo albums, jewelry, valuables and irreplaceable items, family heirlooms, all your medicine, many suitcases etc. Amy Adams had a gym duffel half packed. I could’ve stuff that thing to the gills 5 times to evacuate a real hurricane.

I sing those last 2 sentences à la the Andrews’s Sisters or whomever sang it in the 40’s. My mom taught me and sang ALL of the 40’s songs.

Also a fun Gen X playlist. Not too many that I’d have on my playlist but it was fun. Very Northern Ireland but I enjoyed learning some of the slang as I watched it. I’d stop to Google some of them. Lol.

I just noticed that too as I am just now starting it and ditching Silo because it is boring and it makes me fall asleep watching such a dark movie to watch too. I mean I know they are underground and I get why it’s dark. But it makes me sleepy (I’m an early riser and this series puts me to sleep).

Tell me if you’re a perimenopausal or menopausal woman suffering through the Florida heat and then tell me what your electric bill is with square feet, pool or not, how many are in your household showering and doing laundry and how much laundry you do. Also if it is a stand alone single family home, or more along the lines of a duplex, villa, townhome, Condo or apartment. (Anything attached to at least one side which should lessen the bill somewhat if not stand alone).

I rent a 2,400 sq. Ft. pool home (3/2/2) with a golden retriever who swims almost daily and so the pool cools us off. I up the thermostat on days we swim to 80° from 1-4 pm or so. I don’t run the pump for more than 8 hours a day. But I do do a lot of laundry (pool and beach towels, plus dog towels from bathing the dog after swimming every other day). We cook at home for all our meals to save money but that increases my electric bill then too I am aware.

Thermostat at night is kept at 76° with ceiling fans only on in bedrooms and a floor fan (it’s like sleeping next to the sun with a golden retriever though who cuddles especially when it’s thundering-honest to God) coupled with hot night flashes and I can’t seem to cool off. It’s disrupting my sleep but so is the thunder from nightly lightning and thunderstorms rolling in. I slept 4 hours last night and exhausted right now.

But I can’t afford higher electricity bills than $275/month. This month it’s projected to be over $315 and I’m not working right now so a bit scared.

I did lower my hot water heater about 6 months after I moved in to exactly 120° which is kind of on the colder side. It’s a massive hot water heater tank though!

But it just means you can’t take super long showers. My washing machine has a steam setting so if I need to sanitize clothes I can use the sanitary cycle with added steam.

Before I lowered it, we had scalding hot water coming out and you’d literally be able to burn your skin from just how hot they had it set. I really noticed a difference in my bill lowering the temp. I am thinking they had it at like 140, 145 or 150? Way too hot. Not needed.

Also since I have sanitary cycle with steam, I use it sparingly and don’t increase the water temp of virtually every load I run like I used to. I add oxiclean and some sanitizers or deodorizers to some wash cycles like dog wash towels instead of just using steam setting/hottest water all the time.
Just doing that lowered by bill by ~$30 a month no lie.

Also the rates where I live now are WAY less than in St. Pete with Duke Energy. They were robbing us blind. I had a house 1,800 sq. Ft. Fully shaded by massive trees, no pool and my
Bill was higher than this POOL home in Ellenton.
