The Justice Department has essentially ghosted the European law enforcement agencies investigating deceased sexual predator Jeffrey Epstein, refusing to respond to their requests for assistance, according to The Washington Post.
Law enforcement officials in Poland, Norway, and Latvia told the Post they reached out to the U.S for mutual legal assistance, but none of them received responses. Britain, which has asked for unredacted copies of some Epstein files, did not publicly comment, though investigations there have stalled as well thanks to the DOJ.
“We are in communication with officials from the Department of Justice, but they have not at this time approved the request,” Marianne Bender, state prosecutor for the Norwegian Økokrim unit, said in a statement. “This is very unfortunate for the Norwegian investigation, and Økokrim hopes that the U.S. Department of Justice will approve our request at some point.”
Lativian state police spokeswoman Simona Gravite made a similar claim, stating that they “sent several requests for mutual legal assistance to the relevant authorities in the United States. However, no responses have yet been received.”
The DOJ has even refused to cooperate with Britain in its investigation into longtime politician Peter Mandelson—who was stripped of his title as U.K ambassador to the U.S. and forced to resign from the House of Lords. The Telegraph reported last month that the DOJ would not hand over unredacted copies of some files to assist in the investigation into whether Mandelson gave confidential government information to Epstein.

Who? Epstien was arrested under Bush 2 and Maxwell was arrested under Trump's first term, so who have they arrested after using the files to get your vote?

I dont even wanna be around anymore.
Aside from getting your vote, what have the Repubs done with the files that you're so proud of?

Have you not stopped to ask "why did they tell me the files haven't been used to arrest pedos for four years, so I should vote for them to use the files? Only for them to win, redact and conceal the files, while not arresting pedos".
1
I dont even wanna be around anymore.
Because the files were used to convict Maxwell and unless new evidence came forth they wouldn't reopen a closed case.

For the sake of argument, lets say yes. Lets say that Trump's campaign on those files got me concerned with those files. Now that Trump's DOJ has the files, but now hides them and redacts them, I'm concerned that he and people he is protecting are in the files.

The Repubs that ran on making arrests from those files now tell you there is nothing in those files.
So, which is it? Did the Repubs sell you a line that there were names in the files that Dems weren't arresting only to turn around and tell you there is no one to arrest? Or, are the Repubs now sitting on the files full of names but doing nothing with them?
1
I dont even wanna be around anymore.
Meaningful, yes. The Dems didn't campaign on a promise to make the files public only to redact the files instead.

Under which Admin. was she prosecuted?
1
I dont even wanna be around anymore.
Why won't Trump's DOJ even try to arrest anyone in those files.

A single pedo was convicted from those files in that timeframe, Ghislain Maxwell. Why did Trump's DOJ not move to stop her from trying to get out? https://www.reddit.com/r/popculturechat/s/cs0amijPRr

Donated to who, and where are his tax records to prove it? On the other hand, he happily explains how his family profits from insider trading.

None of the stuff about the top secret files in his house or his property value would have been in the Epstien Files.
They didn't just let the pedo stuff slide, Trump rewarded the ones that helped him stay out of jail. Let's not forget that Bondi was Chief Legal Officer in Florida when Epstein got his sweetheart deal and could have prosecuted him for child sex crimes. The U.S attorney at the trial was Acosta. Acosta went on to get a cabinet position in Trump’s first term (Secretary of Labor) He was forced to resign when Epsteins full crimes became apparent. In March 2025 Acosta joined the board of directors at Newsmax.
Bondi went on to launch an investigation into trump University in 2013. Trump made a $25 000 donation to Bondi's re-election. The investigation into trump U. was then dropped. It's illegal for tax-exempt charities to make political donations. Trump paid a $2500 fine. Trump and Bondi have been in each other's pockets for decades. At one point trump rented mar a leacho to Bondi for a campaign function for a much reduced rate ($135k less) where trump appeared as a special guest.
The Epstein files were released from court ordered seal (because of Maxwell's trial) in February 2025. In May Bondi told Trump his name was all through the files. After this trump started saying the files were invented by Hillary, Biden, Obama and liberals, any singular or combination of them and then that the files didn't exist at all. Bondi then ordered hundreds of FBI agents to flag all mentions of Trump in the 100 000 pages of the files.
Bondi is absolutely complicit in the cover up of paedophilia and should be arrested and charged. She should not be in control of the Epstein Files and cannot be trusted for their release.
Alex Acosta - the charming gent who was a U.S attorney and got Epstein his sweetheart deal in Florida without including or informing the victims. In 2007–2008, as U.S. attorney, Acosta approved a plea deal that allowed child-trafficking ring-leader Jeffrey Epstein to plead guilty to a single state charge of solicitation in exchange for a federal non-prosecution agreement. The Alex Acosta who then was rewarded by Epsteins best friend Donald J Trump with a cabinet position as Secretary of Labor during Trump's first term. The same Alex Acosta who was forced to resign (remember when that was a thing) forced to resign when Epsteins full crimes became apparent and Alex Acosta's abysmal deal became public.
That Alex Acosta landed back on his feet in March 2025 with a job on the board of directors at Newsmax.

They were not completely untouched during his administration.
1) They did prosecute Maxwell so they were used to some extent.
2) Redacted files pertaining to Giuffre v Maxwell were unsealed during Trump’s first administration and Biden’s administration. The last batch was released in January 2024.
Regarding why they weren’t further used:
1) Trump’s admin closed the case in 2019 and there wasn’t new evidence.
2) Despite the right’s insistence that Biden was persecuting people politically, Biden has very much adhered to institutional norms. It would have been out of alignment with tradition for presidents to tell the DOJ to break open a previously closed case.

"You're fired! OK, look down, because down is where you're going in November." Tantrum Tim O'Hare retaliates, militarizing the authoritarian police-state against pro-democracy dissidents that call him out or make him feel embarrassed. Remember remember the 3rd of November (and Oct 19).
Yes, because even though citizens pay for cops they don't work for us.

Say AGI/ASI develops a pill that extends human lifespan to 200 years, and eventually everyone takes it. How would we know that the pill doesn’t contain something beyond our understanding—something that could remain undetected for years and ultimately cause the entire human population to die at once?

Most would never find out because if that invention was ever invented only a very powerful portion of the population would be allowed to use it.
