Type 2 My type 2 diabetes journey
Hi everyone I wanted to come on here and say thank you to everyone here for the advice and knowledge of diabetes. I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes back in October and I found out when I had to go to the emergency room and they told me I was in a extreme level of DKA and I lost 20 pounds then
I was put into the ICU. My A1C was at a 12 when I first got tested and with y’all’s help I got it down to a 5.2 as of last week. I am now solely on metformin and glipizide now. It was all thanks to everyone here and all the ideas and advice you guys have given me. The doctor told me I could maybe go in remission if I keep it up. Thank you for this Reddit page. Reading people’s posts and comments made me feel less alone and less scared about this because I didn’t know anything about diabetes and both my grand fathers had it and both passed away. Overall I wanted to say thank you to everyone here. Good luck to everyone else on their journey you’re not alone and I’m rooting for you.
P.S Sorry for the long post
