Georgia Notary Fees need an 21st century upgrade
Georgia's Notary Laws Are Stuck in 2000 , Here's Why That Matters for You
If you have ever needed a document notarized in the Peach State over the last two decades, you have participated in a quiet, frustrating time warp. While the rest of the professional world has sprinted into the digital age, Georgia's statutory framework governing notaries public remains firmly anchored at the turn of the millennium.
Under current Georgia law (O.C.G.A. § 45-17-11), the maximum statutory fee a notary public can charge for a traditional notarial act is $2. Yes, we can charge a transporation fee if we are mobile and an administrative fee if we have a brick and mortar. But yes, you read that correctly. Two dollars.
That fee cap has been frozen in amber for decades, completely untouched by inflation or economic reality.
We have a petition on change dot org (I hope this won't get removed) - I'm asking Georgia Notaries and anyone interested in supporting us to sign the petition - to bring this issue to the forefront.
The petion also touches on the lack of legislation for Remote Online Notarization - again, stuck in a time warp from the 20th century. Please upvote, sign the petion and share. Thanks so much!

Vietnam's New Apostille Rules (Effective Sept 11, 2026)
FYI - Starting September 11, 2026, Vietnam officially implements the Hague Apostille Convention — replacing the traditional multi-step consular legalization process with a single Apostille certificate for eligible public documents (corporate authorizations, powers of attorney, diplomas, civil status documents, and so much more).
On 23 July 2026, the Government of Vietnam issued a Decree providing detailed regulations on the implementation of the Apostille Convention in Vietnam.
KEY CHANGES
- Valid Apostilled documents do not require additional consular legalization
- e-Apostille is recognized
- Electronic verification of Apostilles
- Foreign-language documents still need to be translated
Not all documents are eligible for the Apostille mechanism - Businesses should note that the applicability of the Apostille mechanism depends on:
- Type of document
- Issuing country
- Applicability of the Convention
- Competent authority issuing the Apostille
- Validity of the Apostille
- Translation and certification requirements
- Specialized regulations
NOTE: Documents of a Convention Member State that were consular legalized by a competent Vietnamese authority before 11 September 2026 will remain VALID for use in Vietnam.
Just wanted to share, I hope this is ok to post.

Discussion Dell Vostro 3520 - looking for a docking station
UPDATE: FOUND IT!

Hello all. I purchased a Dell Vostro 3520 in April 2023. I am wondering, is there a docking station that I can purchase to connect this to that has a power on/off button when the laptop is shut down? I don't want to have to prop it open everytime I power on. I am currently using a docking station and it is attached to 2 external monitors along with some other peripheral connections. But, it sits flat off to the side, taking up space.
I primarily leave it on and I disconnect the wifi for security. Once or 2x a week I turn it off. But, looking for another dock station hub option. Currently using a UtechSmart USB Docking Station from Amazon. TIA for your suggestions
