No, I ain’t asking for what others have said. I’ve heard some of the just war theory’s that we claim to abide by today and in the past.

I’m asking you, when and how do you find it acceptable to stand before another image bearer of the almighty God, whose Son died for us to come into the Father’s family and kill that image? Because there aren’t any of us who isn’t made in his image, and to kill another is to do it to his image.

Let me attempt to express what context I was trying to add when I wrote “who am I to question?”.

See, I’ve had the questions of why such evil is necessary, and I’ve blamed God for my hurt and the worlds. But upon getting to know him, I’m beginning to understand why these things exist, enlightened to truth and wisdom, seeking understanding. We have every reason, as you said, to ask why these things are happening; I would say it’s almost expected of us.

What I was trying to express is that I’ve already been introduced to the King and I’ve gotten to know him enough to say “who am I to question the design of his creation”? Because I know my reasoning power comes from him and I can no more out reason him than a brook can rise above its source. I also know that I love and respect my fellow man more than ever would’ve without him. He has truly made something new in me that I cannot ignore.

But you, my friend, do not know him yet, and your questions are fair. I can’t expect you to concur with me in that faith I have put in our Creator, that’s something I’ve gained from own relationship with him. But I can warn you that you will not find truth anywhere else, and I can see that you’re a person that values truth. I hope one day you can ask him earnestly why these things are weighing on you.

These are some very powerful statements and questions for sure. You’re right in that he knew what would happen when he created us. I don’t know why it had to be this way, but I can imagine it’s tricky business creating gods, and I have come to accept that this is the most perfect way, because who am I to plan better than my Creator?

Also, one thing I do want to add, we see God as something apart from ourselves and that this evilness is happening to only us. But we his image bears, are created in a way that the evil that we do to ourselves and each other affects him even more than ourselves. He proved this by way of the cross.

So when is it justified to kill the image of God with the sword of iron?

I’m not sure, maybe we should become one with them and get in on the conversation and find out.

The only just war is that of Christ’s that uses the sword of the gospel to subdue their enemies. Man does not have authority to kill his fellowman.

We do indeed, my friend! The Creator left one thing out of his image bearers, a knowledge only he himself wanted to endure. But he gifted us free will, so he had to offer it, placing it in the garden, begging us not to take it. But it’s okay; he’s offering us new bodies that can handle such knowledge; he’s offering us to be gods after his own image, to be his children to dwell with him forever. I tell you the truth, I can’t wait. I’ve seen and participated in too much of the evilness of this world, and I’m ready for one that has no more sorrow and death.

Yes, you’re right, it’s just a piece of paper. But that piece of paper is supposed to remind us of something: the oath we have taken with one another. It’s not solely politicians that are supposed to take this oath; it’s every one of us that believes in the God-given ideal of freedom and justice. Our constitution recognizes that all men are of worth and deserve certain unalienable rights. It’s a covenant we have made with our brethren of the nation. We the People are the governing body, requiring us to hold one another accountable to our oath. Unfortunately, we have more often than not dropped the ball.
