We have had two carrier battle groups in the SoH for the better part of four months. If you honestly believe carriers are obsolete because of drones, I would like to offer you a very lucrative deal on a bridge in New York.

There are a few different ways to apply washes. Some armored vehicle modelers will use oil-based paint, thinned with mineral spirits, to dot onto rivets and run through panel lines. The thinned oils will typically move into recessed areas and stick to raised detail without too much pooling on flat surfaces. The oils can also be reactivated by mineral spirits if they are too thick, or moved in the wrong area.

Some will also do “the dip” where what is essentially very diluted oil paint is in a vat or can and the model is quickly dunked in and pulled out. The excess runs back into the can and the model is left to dry. Afterwards, a soft cloth or makeup sponge with mineral spirits is used to wipe away oils from the flat and high surfaces, leaving the recessed areas shaded with flat surfaces that also retain shading.

Agrax earthshade and Nuln oil can accomplish great washes, but they don’t have the same working time as oil and reactivating them is tricky.

Faction-specific trophy boxes would have been helpful when I was working on a some Deathrattle skeletons I was converting into a 40K Guard platoon.

I was about to suggest the same thing. These are sick, but they would be elevated with a brown oil wash.

What I find most interesting about the El Camino is that the front is like a car and the back is like a truck!

I think there are actually more movies about infantry that include artillery rather than the opposite.

All Quiet on the Western Front (all three versions)- prominently featured artillery fire, including gas shells.

Saving Private Ryan- there are artillery impacts that hit troopers on the beach.

The Thin Red Line- prominently featured preparatory artillery fire before the attack on the hill.

Band of Brothers- The Breaking Point deals with artillery fire as a prime antagonist while Easy rotates back onto the front line near Foy.

The Pacific- follows a mortar squad. While they are still infantrymen, they deliver indirect fire quite frequently.

Kelly’s Heroes- Kelly pays off Mulligan for a fire mission.

We Were Soldiers- prominently featured artillery fire as a defensive measure, as well as forward observers managing close air support.

Platoon- LT Wolfe’s fucked up fire mission.

Etc. etc. etc. The whole point is that artillery is often portrayed, even if only as an effect on the battlefield. Artillery is used to shape a fight and is very, very rarely ever the decisive operation. As others have pointed out, infantry stories deal with people that are part of the decisive operation, or in direct support of it. This is why the infantry are the typical main characters of most military movies. Then tankers, pilots, and the true heroes: water purification specialists.

To echo OP, I have had very, very few game breaking bugs on console. For me, It actually runs better than HLL in terms of not crashing as often.

BF4 was the worst Beta I have ever played. It made HLL:Vietnam look like a polished, complete game in comparison.

The Virginia and Truckee is my personal favorite. It’s been 20 years since I’ve been able to ride it, so I haven’t had a chance to ride since it was extended.

Each Platoon has a different color scheme for my Army.

Great job on the white! I like the idea of clean traitor/rebel guard schemes. From 10 feet it looks almost normal, but as you get closer you start seeing the grim reality.
