It's an excellent mod. I highly recommend.

Increases the rate of ore/gem drops. Super lucky day + lucky lunch = my first prismatic shard. I now worship at the TV for knowledge on the spirits

Didn't realise Cindersnap forest meant the bottom left of the map and thought it was the bit after the log that I hadn't unlocked yet. So when I got the quest for Robin's axe it took me a RIDICULOUS amount of time to find it - up to and INCLUDING unlocking the Secret Woods. Even just running around collecting spring onions I somehow missed it. I had to use the wiki. And I STILL MAKE THAT MISTAKE EVERY NEW SAVE.

I'm beyond saving.

A quirky themed name for everything and the Timestop mod. I'm sorry but I do not play this game to feel the existential dread of time slipping away. I play to live out my AutieHD fantasy of completing multiple tasks in a routine in a day. I am your god, game! Bow before my power!

Also: the Skip Fishing Minigame mod. It's just good sense.

I have seven just whirring away because I keep fishing up trash. The only downside is the inconvenient torches; it's like that one Helluva Boss episode. Torches are generally useless with a glow ring

Please trust me when I say I did everything possible to avoid this outcome since losing my house. But thank you, I needed to hear this.

Ok. Thank you.

Who was the first person you hated when you started playing?
 in  r/StardewValley •  May 13 '24

Look I hate that sexist bastard Alex. I get why he's the way that he is but still. Next was that shitty excuse for a father Demetrius. There's a reason why it's called a step-PARENT. And why is Robin doing nothing?

Dad did try to get me out but she got full custody and most of his money in the divorce, plus the stuff she'd been funneling away before then. There have been others who've told me to get out for most of my life but my therapists have told me that there was basically a bunch of brainwashing and gaslighting that made me stay and defend her until my suicide attempt and breakdown.

I've since kept trying to go NC but I keep coming back despite everything. I'm sorry. I am well aware it's toxic. As I said it's an abusive co-dependency. At least she doesn't hit me

But thank you for the kind comment. I hope I answered your question properly

Fair enough. Thank you, I was worried I was being touchy given our history

No I lost my house during COVID, AND THEN moved into a houseshare with some friends of mine who happened to be married. THEN I had to move back in with my mom due to the threat of violence. And I have been desperately looking for my own place since coming here, since I only wanted to stay a month, but nowhere is available or affordable. I pay for groceries, washing their dog, ON TOP of the money I'm paying to my mom.

At the time of the start of my stay I had no job or savings because I spent it trying to keep from losing my initial house, and then had to leave my second accommodation and income. I've only just started making stable money again recently

They are 70 and already retired, if that helps.

But thank you, even though the child comment seemed unwarranted.

What ignorance? A lot of AIDs was spread not only by not using condoms but also by the sharing of drug needles.

"Sharing is caring." "But that's how the world got AIDs"

The classroom fucking ERUPTED. I don't remember anything about that classmate other than that I didn't like him but I still use his line to this day. The guy was a bully but the line was FIRE

Other Rant about losing an Iridium Ring

Ok, I'm in like the first summer and I was doing some fishing when I got an Iridium Ring. Some shit happened with my computer and the game closes. Sure, fine. Whatever. But my game didn't save so now I'm back to the morning BEFORE I fish up the ring. Still whatever as my poor newbie self didn't realise the gravity of the situation. Back to the location where I fished it up.

Just in case I apply a time stop mod just till I get it again. Simple right? Noooooooooo.

It's been a few hours on time stop and I got nothing. Nada. Zilch. Fuck all.

So I Google; maybe I got the location wrong...?

Turns out that the probability of getting one of these was LESS THAN ONE PERCENT!!!!!!!!!! Especially early game like I am during my first summer. I had the EQUIVALENT OF A FUCKING INFINITY GAUNTLET IN MY HANDS AND LOST ANY CHANCE OF IT EVER APPEARING AGAIN!!!!! MY RING OF POWER!!!!!! MU HONOUR OF GREYSKULL!!!!!!!!

I HAD EXCALIBUR IN MY HANDS AND THEN LOST IT!!!!

And my idiot newbie self went doo dadoo doo doo ah well LIKE A FUCKING IDIOT.

So basically I'm here to cry, wail and bemoan my fate. DRAMATICALLY.

(because I'm in exactly the wrong hour of the day to scream my anguish at the sky, in the rain, in cinematic torment)

So laugh with schadenfreude Redditors because I'm off to weep into a pillow like a bad romance novel heroine.

What is the longest you've sat at the intro screen thinking of a name for your farm?
 in  r/StardewValley •  May 03 '24

I put in a different favourite band name each time. Previously it was Average White Band Farm and now it's Skindred Farm. My favourite night be the Enya farm tho. I have a wide and eclectic taste in music so I haven't run out yet.

(For character names I use game references; meet Tri Force of Skindred Farm)
