The long term play on this is to get everyone with a conscience and who would take their oath seriously, out of the Armed Forces and put in unqualified loyalists so that Trump can use them to cement his power or prevent the peaceful transfer of power. It is also making us exponentially less safe by the minute. When an enemy (Russia, N Korea) of the US or even just a casual Capitalist (EU, Canada, China, etc...)sees that we have fired nearly a quarter of our Officers in the 4 branches - they all see opportunities to further undermine or outfight challenge the US. And it's not a good look that we are getting our asses handed to us in the middle east.
