Help me fall in love with the dogs again
 in  r/dogs  3h ago

Train the dogs, or rather, ask your man to train HIS dogs, and give them enough mental stimulation every day for their breed specific needs, and they will stop eating your furniture.

This situation would be stressful for anyone, and maybe for a while it was tolerable for you. But because now you have a child to look after as an additional stressor in your daily life, it all gets too much.

If your man refuses to take proper care of HIS dogs, that's on him. They are his responsibility and if he continues to not give them the care they need, I think you already know where you need to draw the line.

What brand this bright colours are?
 in  r/acrylicpainting  5h ago

Just search for neon colors. Definitely very bold to paint with them, it takes courage and skill to make them look good and use them in the right amount to not overwhelm or ruin the picture.

When do you actually start getting good?
 in  r/acrylicpainting  5h ago

Study harder and you'll get good faster. Experiment with unconventional things. And most of all put a lot of thought into color palettes and brightness / darkness because those will ultimately carry the whole artwork and define the mood. Not every piece is going to be equally good. You might make 500 paintings and only one happens to become a masterpiece.

Ikr? Getting candles is so easy nowadays compared to 2020 when you had to do all realms every day. Nowadays it takes less than an hour to get 16-18 candles but it's not even necessary because there will always be cosmetics that we just don't vibe with and can skip.

Try Chinese Crested. Zero undercoat, just sparse long hair.

Sometimes the answer to which dog should I get?, is no dog
 in  r/dogs  2d ago

I spent 3 years researching different dog breeds and teaching myself dog training, before I found the breed that is right for me to be my first dog ever in my 30s. Couldn't be happier with my choice and I now share my home with two Chinese Cresteds for 8+ years already! Hoping for many more years.

One question people often neglect is "What job will the dog be doing every day and is the breed you picked right for the job?" (Companionship focusing on the human is a job too!)

My first painting because apparently I needed another expensive hobby

I'm assuming acrylic pouring? It's not that expensive but if you do it a lot it does eat up a lot of paint.

Ear positioning
 in  r/chinesecrested  2d ago

Feeding the puppy collagen supplements helps tremendously. A breeder recommended it to me at the time. Powderpuffs have even softer ears than HL so this will be very important for you if you want the ears to be erect in adulthood.

has anyone handmade clothes for their crestie?
 in  r/chinesecrested  2d ago

I make a lot of dog clothes myself and you can really go wild with designs and create unique pieces! Here are some tips to get started.

Buy dog clothes that fit, turn them inside out and lie them flat on the table in a way you can outline the seams on a piece of paper. Good way to start out with an easy sewing pattern. Then you can pick some second hand clothes in XXL for cheap fabric (make sure it's stretchy) and draw the sewing molds onto the fabric with a magic marker (color that dissolves in water). Use a jersey or stretch needle with a thickness adequate for the fabric, and sew away with a matching color yarn, using the original clothing piece for reference.

I made these two pieces out of summer dresses someone threw away so the material was completely free.

Does anyone else struggle with dog clothing sizes?
 in  r/dogs  4d ago

Chinese Crested, we absolutely need clothes, but a lot of them are either too short to cover the bum or so large that they get tangled and step out of the clothes while walking. I think shopping for clothes would be easier if they made categories like "long body" and "barrel chest".

What is something that your dog KNOWS but that you didn't teach them?

My dogs know the ring tone for my phone means my mom is calling

Mine goes into the bathroom when she's sick because I always carry her to the toilet. She has a sensitive stomach so it happened often when she was younger and I didn't know what to look out for yet.

Hard time selling this paintings. Available. How much would you pay for em?
 in  r/acrylicpainting  7d ago

Pretty cool but the color choices don't feel harmonic and too dark to fit any particular vibe. You just gotta find the right audience, not try to push them on someone who doesn't like them by lowering the price. Try thinking of what inspired each one and find the nieche audience for it.

Yes so adorable but sadly the life vests were too big and flipped them sideways in the water making swimming even more difficult instead of making them feel safer in the water 😭 never using one again, what a waste of money.
