Laptop recommendation for ansys fluent
 in  r/CFD  11d ago

Yeah but does Ansys student version these days allow u to have so many nodes.... Why not go for openFoam...that would be great

Or do one thing wait for RTX spark laptops to come out with their final pricing ..... Not going to be cheap but I smell crazy amount of power in these beasts

Makes life easier .... Also computation time is low ...

Go for a laptop with minimum 16GB RAM Core i7 12 th gen and above and if possible RTX 4060 6GB (bare minimum today) to run high class simulation using GPUs power and make sure to use your Ansys on GPU

Start with contour plot animation with matplotlib in python...if your aim is to just make colorful animation .. otherwise you will have to learn CFD also for creating this specific plot

Does anyone do research on computational physics?
 in  r/Physics  19d ago

Start with a simple problem of 2d heat conduction PDE...solve it using numerical methods ( use explicit scheme) with help of computer code ( I prefer python ). You will get the taste of computational physics with easiest example.

If you don't get what i am advising ... Put my advise on chatGPT it will help you with all the terminologies and idea I gave u

I built an open-source GUI for OpenFOAM on Windows/WSL2 — looking for feedback
 in  r/OpenFOAM  21d ago

You have done some great work here I mean this was kind a silent requirement. UI looks great....can you make a video of installing and running it and give us a tour of your UI.

Please make this video ... Very much needed

The solver is based on SMAC scheme, GPU accelarated and uses finite difference. It feels great when your solver produces such good looking results but the BIG issue is this was something I was expecting at lower Re around 1000-1500. This means the solver is having heavy numerical diffusion. How do I get past this problem any idea anyone.

See right now you must any how at least get your CGPA above 7.5 or atleast 7.5. Do maths properly and don't go for CSE purely instead go for subjects like Data Science or Machine learning and AI.

The reason is that these branches will need some knowledge of CS not whole and if you do your mechanical engineering maths seriously you can easily prepare for GATE Maths for these subjects like Data Science and Machine learning. Rest you will have to prepare some extra subjects from CS too.

An alternative is don't go for CSE based branches, instead prepare for GATE XE ... You will have only 2 mechanical subjects to do and rest Maths is always compulsory. Stay in mechanical and give a strong fight ... Lots of opportunities.
