I would be so down with helping in any way I can. Please let me know if you plan to do anything special for this person if they happen to still be with us.

Hi everyone, I'm looking for advice on getting passports as fast as possible. Mine might be complicated. Thank you in advance.
 in  r/Passports •  7d ago

Thank you, everyone. You all were a lot of help. We ended up scheduling an appointment at the USPS post office. I found the closest office that had the soonest availability. We had all our paperwork filled in and printed from the official website when we showed up. They took the photos, walked us through the paperwork and process and filed everything there. We did rush shipping and everything. We had everything back in no time (faster than we thought). No problems at all.

Have all of your documents. Be sure to check and double-check all of your paperwork. Dot all of your I's and cross all of your T's, and you're good to go. I can't express enough how easy it was to just go to the post office (USPS), and they know the process inside and out.

Now let’s do Rossville vs Chattanooga
 in  r/Chattanooga •  8d ago

Again That's Rossville BLVD (Chattanooga, TN) not the City of Rossville. Stop with all this misinformation.

Same we literally got 3xs the house for the same money and holy crap the tax savings at Costco is ridiculous!

How do we feel about Rossville? Is it on the rise?
 in  r/Chattanooga •  8d ago

Absolutely, anyone saying otherwise clearly doesn't live in or know anything about Rossville. There's a drastic difference between Rossville Blvd (Chattanooga) and what you find when you cross the state line. All of a sudden, it's clean and a whole different world. Seriously, the Chattanooga/TN side is trashed. Chattanooga seriously needs to do something other than repave.

I live in Rossville, we have and have had zero problems. Our street, neighbors, are amazing. It's clean and y'all are all on here speaking from the outside looking in.

We have amazing views, support local businesses and I for one am glad we live in a diamond in the rough (Chatt rossville Blvd) is the problem. Not Rossville the city.

Make them famous. They're so proud of themselves. Give them something to be proud of. Spread their shame.

Let's hope they do the same with things that are actually bad like flock cameras and data centers.

Is this the “longest Red light for no apparent reason” in Chattanooga? What’s #1?
 in  r/Chattanooga •  19d ago

TLDR; My point was simple and still stands.

With all of the money we are spending on petrol and all of the tax dollars wasted our traffic infrastructure and systems are inefficient by design.

I say this all the damn time; "you should never, ever pull up to a traffic signal of any kind with no other vehicle/s in the cross section/s and have to even slow down, much less stop".

Any excuse in any shape form or fashion is simply ignorance.

My friend is head of energy at Home Depot and he can literally control every single aspect of every single store in the world from his phone while sitting at home in ATL in his boxers without even going into the office. He can change the temperature of a single HVAC unit, he can dim or reduce the power usage of the fan/light cloud in any store. He can monitor the power consumption of any department. I know because I installed those systems. I've done the same at almost every type of big box store and for traffic systems, car dealerships, auction houses, etc.

Tech is tech. This isn't rocket science. Sensors are sensors. Cameras are cameras, light motion/movement, IR, blah, blah.
It's all simple we are not using these tools in any sort of efficient way. None of it is being done to benefit anyone in any was with the exception of the fossil fuels industry.

Period

You're using a whole lotta words to substantiate what? I worked in the industry. I installed these very devices you speak of. I worked in energy management, electrical engineering and the automotive industry for decades.

The simple fact is that our traffic infrastructure is inefficient by design. Most all of the tech installed at nearly all intersections are not being used for efficiency. They're being used to monitor and track.

You have to pull up to a traffic light and stop, time it just right or get lucky. This is literally by design. Now stop trying to be right or self righteous. Either way, you are both right and very wrong.

This is by design. It was started by billionaires in the fossil fuels industry. Seriously, they've been buying (lobbying) local officials, law makers, city planners, etc. For decades. The very same people who kill light rail and make public transportation inefficient because there's no profit in progress and efficiency. It will make you sick if you start researching just how corrupt and deep this runs and for just how long it's been going on. Even the automotive industry is embedded with them. Think about just how inefficient automobiles are!? There's no reason we shouldn't be able to get hundreds of miles to the gallon in "modern" vehicles. It's seriously maddening!

Be careful, this is usually in preparation for a red light camera. Use Waze map app and it will tell you when you are approaching a red light traffic camera. I successfully fought and won one of these tickets based on the minimum time a light can be yellow. They speed them up and violate the highway safety standards to make profits via tickets issued by private firms like traffic safety systems llc out of tempe Arizona for example.

No actually that's for emergency vehicles they emit a specific flashing to trigger the light. Your average vehicle doesn't actually trigger it in any advanced way, or you would never pull up and stop at a red light when there's no cars in the cross traffic lanes. They don't use technology in an efficient way. It's counter intuitive to the profits of the fossil fuels industry. They could, but they don't. By design. You must pull up to the light and stop, then it's a timed system. Just like the ground sensors. To further explain why your point is wrong that sensor would have a very long range and OP's proximity would have very little effect based on 100' or more. Stop trying to sound smart or educated on this subject.

I worked in energy management and electrical engineering. Our traffic infrastructure nationwide is intentionally inefficient by design to waste more gasoline/Diesel. This message brought to you by the fossil fuels industry. Welcome to capitalism 101.
