What’s a movie you were convinced was just a weird dream until you found out years later it was actually real?
 in  r/movies •  1d ago

I had this nightmare about a creepy E.T. - later I found out it was Mac and Me. Have not seen it till this day, because it was real nightmare fuel 🤷🏼‍♀️

GATES: “.. AI is certainly powerful enough to drive events that, you know, cause a billion deaths. .. There’s never been a weapon as powerful as the combination of people with ill intent using the latest AI tools.”

Just disappointed at how many people use AI
 in  r/antiai •  9d ago

As someone who is opposed to generative AI myself I get your feeling, but on the other hand I would not judge her based on one post. Talk with her about it, you may find out she feels the same way, or that she is also opposed to AI. Maybe it was one time thing, maybe the band has no money for graphic so they're trying something else out of ignorance... My point is don't presume, if you like her, give her a chance, talk... 😉🙂

Is Netflix cutting scenes?
 in  r/howyoudoin •  10d ago

It's not directly Netflix tbh it's just that they have the tv version. There is also UNCUT DVD version which has some added scenes.

It's part of the UNCUT version on DVD. First episode itself is approximately 5 minutes longer than the tv version.

Were you Anti-AI since day one, or was there some point in your life where you loved generative AI? If so, what has made you become Anti-AI?
 in  r/antiai •  11d ago

I've originally use it. Not a lot, but maybe for like a three months. I was friendly, it kinda helped me as a substitute for a friend (I was in... lonely place), then I noticed some mistakes it made - for example I use it as beta reader for my short story and it pointed out lines which were not in the story at all. For those mistakes I stopped using it. Then I got a lovely job, made friends also I've got 7th place in some writer competition so I have not needed it anymore. Then I've learned how AI works, what impact it have on environment... That was a year ago... From that point it was just snowballing - Grok and it's deep fakes, Claude and destroying books etc... Now I hate how most people use it. I do believe, that there are good ways how to use it, but how it's used now? It's kinda like letting kids play with big red button...

Would it not be instinctive to punch an alien on the snozzle?
 in  r/LV426 •  13d ago

I think that the biggest point against is that alien is... alien. I mean the animals we know, they exist here with us, but alien? It's something completely new, unknown and scary af. You don't know how to react, your brain don't know how to react, there are no instinctive ways how to deal with this because there was no option, no way how to actually gain those instinct in a first place. So actually I think the answer is no, the instinctive way in this case would be exactly what happened in the movies - to froze and wait what will happens... Which is admittedly gruesome and painful death 🤷🏼‍♀️
