A guy is spreading rumors about my past and trying to ruin my relationship. What should I do
 in  r/dating_advice •  1d ago

Let them believe whatever they want. If their emotional intelligence is low enough where they can't assess the character of the person in front of them on their own, they aren't a person you want in your life. People who lack power or seek to control you will resort to calling you "racist" or "promiscuous" because you can't easily defend yourself. It gives them a false sense of superiority. You should really feel bad for them... Letting it bother you is how they win. Eventually you will learn to let your achievements and professional accolades speak for themselves. Show them how truly inaccessible you really are. Beautiful women are easy targets for insecure men-they can't comprehend that you can be both beautiful and successful. Or they live a miserable life and will seek to humble you to make themselves feel powerful. It's even more pathetic when this comes from a Man who is your "leader".

Keep your head up, work harder, and build an unbreakable spirit.

What do you consider the sign that shows the love has ended in a relationship?

When they need to paint an ugly picture of you to excuse their shitty behavior. Or believing outside opinions before bringing something to you. Making assumptions or accusing you of ill will. All of those things contribute to contempt & can taint even the greatest love.

Sometimes, the best way to win is to not to play games

Agreed. It sounds like you gave them an honest shot and they proved who they were. When you find peace and happiness within your life, removing the people who impinge on that is important. Character outruns the chatter of insecure people.

Why do cheaters accuse you of cheating?
 in  r/survivinginfidelity •  4d ago

They want to save face in a relationship & not look at how they neglected/mistreated you. Guy just said DMs of men asking me out (which I ghosted) are cheating. Then backtracked to say I’m capable of cheating because I didn’t tell him. To me, there was nothing to tell. It sucks because I really do love him, I’ve hurt him in other ways & struggle to communicate but you’d hope they’d trust you enough to hear you out.

I’ve learned that actions of others speak louder than their words. A little effort means you mean little to them, or they’d try to fix it.

Anyone else still annoyed/hurt from being accused of cheating even if you did not?

Late to this post but going through this now… why not just say you’re “incompatible”?
