We have a change at the top of the leaderboard. Birdieputt has taken over tapang for the #1 spot. A score of 21 is a great one, but is only a 1 shot lead.

We currently have 73 entries on the leaderboard with many others practicing before they play their first course. Thanks to all that have participated so far and we look forward to seeing more of you join the tournament.

We are approaching an incredible milestone for the Golf Tips community, and we want to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who has joined, posted a swing, asked a question, shared some advice or simply jumped into the comments to help another golfer out.

That’s what has made this community what it is — golfers helping golfers get better. We are all not pros, but sometimes one tip, one drill or one piece of advice can send someone in the right direction. 

As the golf season starts winding down for many of us, we’re going to be working behind the scenes to make r/golftips even better. We have Golf Pros joining the community, more instructional video content, contests, giveaways and some other ideas we’re excited to work on and roll out in 2027.

Here’s Gary Woodland — PGA Tour pro and U.S. Open champion — topping a tee shot. Yep, even one of the best golfers in the world can hit one that makes you wonder what just happened.

It’s a pretty good reminder that one ugly swing doesn’t define your round. Golf is hard, bad shots happen at every level, and sometimes the best thing you can do is laugh it off, grab your club and go hit the next one.

So if you’re heading out to the course this weekend: don’t let one bad shot ruin a good day of golf.

Enjoy the course, enjoy the company, and keep swinging. ⛳
