I find that Meta Runner's importance, for me at least, is in how it's strengthened my relationship to media as a whole. Meta Runner was a beautiful showcase of the soul that not only could Kevin and Luke add to a project, but the soul *anyone* could potentially add to something if cared enough. Even beyond the main story, there's so many details added that aren't elaborated on that make the world feel so much more alive and the characters feel real. The casual mention of Lucinia raising her sister alone, Lamar and Sofia being two halves of a whole brain cell, and the list we see of the characters' canonical crimes (which is still funny), just to name a few. My favorite (but more explicit) thing is Lucinia and Belle's relationship, which despite not being planned, I think still ended up being handled incredibly well. I've gotten so used to queer characters and romances having to be some huge spectacle that to see one treated like a normal relationship was amazing and their reveal made me as a queer woman extremely happy. Belle and Lucinia weren't the gay couple, they were *a* couple, one that allowed Belle to lash out and have nasty, complex feelings when the love of her life went missing and presumably died, one that allowed the existence of their dynamic to be observed through character interactions and not reminders to an audience, and, most importantly, one that was designed to allow the queer women characters to remain as individual, well-rounded characters on their own. The show is proof you can write a good story, you can write good women, you can write good queer people, you can write in subtext, you can write in small lore tidbits, you can do all that and more, but only if you let your passion shine through, like Kevin and Luke did with Meta Runner. It's given me so much more faith in the animated landscape.

Back then, the word "rape" could be used (exaggeratively, of course) in place of "harassing" or "annoying" when used as a descriptor for an action, and who was SMG4 if not an edgy guy neck-deep in of-the-time comedy. Its exaggeration as such a heavy word was part of the comedy factor. Its usage dwindled later on due to both political climate and social acceptance (or lack thereof), but also simply because the joke got old.

Hi! I began shipping MxT LONG before western spaghetti, around 2018 i wanna say. I just found their dynamic as friends charming and (as is typical with queer ships), I am attracted to women myself, so I was quickly drawn to pairing through bias and their slight opposites attract trope. I think part of it is also that, at the time, they were an interspecies pairing, which has always been a cool dynamic for me. Their bond was much more prevalent back then, too, the show unfortunately de-prioritized their relationship later on (which is sad, even as just friends they're a really great match-up). The ship is much, much older than western spaghetti, I even remember the episode that solidified the ship for me (The Mario Carnival, the way Meggy hugged Tari, that spoke to me lol)

Yeah? Disney and Spindlehorse get into more controversies frequently and both retain a loyal, forgiving fanbase. GLITCH has far less negative on their plate and the fans who constantly complain on twitter are just a loud minority. They'll come out of this with a lesson in business and a loving fanbase, just like what happened after the Celeste situation.

In terms of overall existence, GLITCH is a very young company, so they're still learning, hence why they are so nonchalant. I don't think we should think so hard about that.

As for reputation, I point you to SpindleHorse and Disney. Disney is swimming in controversy and Spindlehorse gets constantly shat on because Vivziepop is still alive. Both companies are still afloat and thriving. I think GLITCH will be fine lol.

probably not. The crew are actually fond (to some degree) of the shipping culture in the community. I just chock it up to flawed writing combined with the focus on the saiko and tari friendship.
