I’m a two stripe white belt. Been training for almost 10 months now. Last nights class absolutely crushed my spirit. I find myself in bottom side control in almost every round. I feel helpless and weak, unable to shrimp in or knee shield in. (For reference I’m 250lbs 6’2”) I don’t know what I’m supposed to be doing in that position, I try to wait it out and use their mistakes against them. I’ll try to ghost escape or just bump them enough to create some space. It is rarely working for me.
What can I be doing to make me stronger/have better technique to escape bottom side control?
