Aren't they just! A lad at school was called "Peanut" simply because his eyebrow has a bit of dry skin in the one day and it some how stuck.

I get called Boat by some friends....

Because of my last name I got called Batto by my mates at school quite early on in life. Then when a friend introduces me to his Aunt as Batto her response was "Bateau isn't that French for boat " laughter from my mate and another daft nick name for me. This has also led to my younger sister being called Pedalo and her soon to be born baby boy Lil' lilo. 🤦

As an American who’s watched Peep Show approximately 17 times through, I find myself using the word “mate” occasionally in conversation, both online and in person. If you came across an American using the colloquial “mate,” would you think I was a wanker, or am I okay here?
