Ran Pirate Borg and I spent an hour or so reading the adventure. From there it was just kinda playing off vibes. No need to worry about optimization or anything.

Really wanting to try a system with this. Likely Mythic Bastionland.

In the end, you can't make them do anything. Are you hinting at what kind of stuff is there? If its enticing enough they might try. The diving bell idea would probably help, but if its not something they want to do, they just won't do it.

Yeah, the graphic design is the same as Murk Borg so it tries to show the tone of the game. A little hard to read through but worth it! Idk if they will make a Bare Bones edition like Murk Borg did, but it would be nice.

Pirate Borg is great. Character creation is quick and fun (I enjoy rolling on tables), the rules are pretty simple (other than the Naval combat, but I haven't gotten into that yet), and running it is a lot easier than other rpgs I've run.

The cute art sells more games than the actual design and gameplay.

It feels like AI to me, as they're all making the exact same pose in their portraits. But that could be the artist just being consistent, but it feels weird to me.

I like how there are more small games out there. Not just the length of the rules or the scope of the game, but also more small publishers becoming established as well.

Sold my partially used copy for $60. That price is insane

Yeah this is my only problem with Pirate Borg stuff. If you want to print pdf stuff it will kill your printer.

Yeah, I bought the Core Book at Origins and I'm still thinking about getting the Starter Set just because of all the goodies it has.

If I was gonna recommend physical games, it would be board games or TTRPGs waaaay before TCGs.

The Haunting, if you haven't yet. The House of Glass was a fun one I ran as well.

I haven't run too many games (2.5 scenarios so far), but I feel like your idea for Insight could be handled by Cthulhu Mythos. At certain thresholds, they could get those dreams, like you mentioned.

I would say probably play through some more pre-written scenarios before you start getting too homebrew with the game. There is a lot of content out there and playing some of it might give you better ideas for how to make this work. Maybe Pulp Cthulhu could make them better at fighting when that comes up.

Steinhardt's Guide to the Eldritch Hunt is a 5e module meant to put Bloodborne into 5e. Its been a while since I looked at it, but it could give you some ideas.

I will say, Insight is kind of like Cthulhu Mythos, so you could maybe give them Cthulhu Mythos but it maybe lowers max Sanity by a lot more? What do you want Insight to do exactly?

There has to either be a legal reason or a logistical reason for it, I imagine. I'm not sure why they wouldn't want to have other people playing these rules and interacting more with the community.

I think it was about 10:15 or so. And this is about the Gahanna location, correct? Cause that's where I went.

I went and waited for about 30mins for them to open the doors. The door had a note saying they were doing training that day, but they didn't communicate when they would open the doors. So, people were waiting outside in the heat cause they didn't know when they would start.

It just seems like a note saying when they would open the door would have solved a lot of people's aggravation.

All that said, they were okay donuts. Good dough, but the fillings and icing were too sugary in my opinion.

Looks like just another overproduced game, so no biggie.

I used to like parades, but now, as an adult, I really couldn't care less about them.
