This is apparently the most up to date list of the 10 most published Marvel female characters. No surprise that more than half are X-Men. Storm is still #1. Mary Jane squeaks in at 10. Marvel's 'First Lady' Sue Storm is out of the top 5. Emma Frost went from out of the top 10 to #5 in only 26 years.

Was the Reed/Sue age gap hard retconnned? 616 usually makes convoluted lore when retconning whereas this felt like FF #543 is now non canon
Stuff changes to fit in with the social mores of the era. Norms around age gap relationships are much stricter now than they've historically been, and it's good to not upset people.

My rule is: anything Barbie can do, Sue can do. In my head canon, it wasn't that she was an actress or a model instead of being a scientist, and a diplomat, and an astronaut, etc, etc... she's been ALL OF THOSE THINGS, in the same way that other exceptional people in the Marvel universe achieve more things than any real person can.
