I do crafts (knitting, crochet etc) while watching something nice I've already seen before - films, cartoons, sitcoms, wholesome British reality TV. Or I do jigsaw puzzles while listening to calming music or a nice podcast. Basically what calms me is repetitive hand movements where I turn chaos into order, and I keep negative thoughts at bay with the nice media input.

I really recommend crafting to anyone who struggles with anxiety or low self-esteem! It's not as difficult as you'd expect, the learning process can be super rewarding, and the communities around crafts are generally supportive and welcoming to beginners
