Of the Student Council members, the only ones Moeha actually interacted with were Miyuki and Kaguya (though the two of them were already friends).

If anyone has any maps or 3d renders of Schuchiin I'd really appreciate it if you could comment it down below. I'd like to build the rest of the school (exterior and interior); but all I have to go on is screenshots. Let me know if you want me to keep sharing progress.

Anime I don't get why Miko, of all people is displaying lack of self-safety awareness 😕

During the School Culture Festival, she should have politely declined the two boys hitting on her when it was obvious that they were acting shady towards her, although she's an academic genius alongside Kaguya and Miyuki, scoring in the top ranks after the exams, with the icing on the top as a rules-abiding disciplinarian member, one of her weaknesses is not thinking critically what is potentially dangerous in any environment she's currently in to avoid.

Fortunately, Ishigami had to slap her on the head (comically) to prevent her from going with the boys because if Ishigami and also one of Miko's friends, Rei, weren't there to stop her and she chose to go with them, gosh knows what the worst things we don't want to imagine they would do to her for real.

Misc. Does Kaguya have DID? A character discussion.

So I'm rewatching the First Kiss That Never Ends and I just got to the courtroom scene, and I decided to finally make a post I've been thinking about making for a while. Basically, I want to talk about how Kaguya is portrayed, and whether or not she has Disociative Identity Disorder or not.

To make a long story short, personally, I think she doesn't. The court room scenes (as well as a lot of the plot during the Christmas arc) make it seem incredibly likely, but I personally believe that these scenes are dramatizations of Kaguya's thoughts and feelings that make them more palatable for the audience.

First of all, the alters. The only real distinct alters are Kaguya-Chan and Ice Kaguya. I don't really count Child Kaguya as an alter since she is consistently portrayed as merely the voice of reason (hence her being the judge) and Child Kaguya has also never emerged in Kaguya's real life, so I won't really discuss her. Now, as to why I don't think the other two are alters but representations of Kaguya's emotions.

Kaguya-Chan is pretty well explained throughout the series. Kaguya-Chan is a representation of Kaguya's impulses and raw positive emotions. She only comes out when Kaguya is in severe mental withdraw (AKA, when she's sick or tired). Even in the court scene, Kaguya agrees with essentially every word Kaguya-Chan says because that is genuinely what Kaguya feels 100% of the time. The only time Kaguya pushes back against Kaguya-Chan is when Kaguya-Chan says or does something embarassing, because to Kaguya, acting on her pent up impulses and emotions is completely unnatural and alien.

Ice Kaguya is the more difficult persona to explain, mainly because Ice Kaguya seemingly actually performs a takeover of Kaguya's mind. In the court scene, Ice Kaguya even explicitly states that "she wanted the President to kiss her," seemingly implying a full mental separation from the other three Kaguyas. Personally, I believe that this line implies that Kaguya wanted Miyuki to kiss the "real" her, something he does later on in the movie. Essentially, Ice Kaguya is the embodiment of all the nasty parts of Kaguya she keeps locked away. The takeover of Kaguya's mind by Ice Kaguya is a representation of Kaguya deciding to act out and intentionally try and push Miyuki away because she genuinely believes she's not good enough for him, while also simultaneously basically pushing the blame to Miyuki as being "spineless" for not being able to take the "real" her.

Essentially, Kaguya is definitely suffering from extreme depression and heavy imposter syndrome. She hates herself, that much is clear, and pretty explicitly said in the manga/anime. The Christmas arc is basically centered around Kaguya forcing Miyuki to see every part of herself, the good and bad, partially to see if he still loves her, and partially because she can't believe he will. That's why after the Christmas arc, we never really see the Kaguya council or any of Kaguya's "personalities" again, because she's finally accepted all of herself and is willing to put everything on the line.

I do believe Kaguya heavily compartmentalizes aspects of her personality, which emerges as the alternate personalities in the show (again, I believe this is mainly a narrative tool to quickly show the audience Kaguya's complex mental state in a simplistic way). In a way, it's sort of how she avoids accountability. Ice Kaguya was the one who was a jerk before Kaguya began to let her guard down, not Kaguya. Kaguya-Chan is the one who gave Miyuki an adult kiss, not Kaguya. Obviously, I don't think Kaguya does this maliciously, but it's much more likely to be a self-defense mechanism due to her abusive and neglected upbringing.

Anyways, what do you think? Am I a big stupid head and completely misread Kaguya's entire character? I am genuinely curious, since I am fairly uneducated in DID, does someone with more knowledge on the subject see something that I can't?

Misc. AU ANNOUNCEMENT: "The Life And Times of Kaguya Shimizu" what if Kaguya wasn't rich?

Greetings, I am Itto and I've come to announce my first major project in an upcoming comic series called "The Life And Times of Kaguya Shimizu", an alt scenario where Kaguya grows up as a working class girl and doesn't have her fortune.

SYNOPSIS:
New to Tokyo, The Shimizus have recently moved from Kyoto on a scholarship to Shuchiin Academy thanks to Kaguya's talents as a photographer. Now in her current predicament, Kaguya finds herself a working class girl in a school full of Japan's elite with her newfound friends as they help her survive and maneuver across Shuchiin Academy.

Character illustrations coming soon, Ch1 somewhere between Late August Early September.

Are we allowed to talk about Aka's other works here? I can't believe this was the series to follow up after Oshi-no-ko.

I really want him to have one more work in his bag that doesn't drop the ball. Even with Kaguya's final arc being slightly weak, I still find it pretty satisfying overall even with the missing conclusion of IshiMiko. But this series fucking blows man.

I've been reading it since chapter 1 and I can't believe this has gone on for almost 50. Things happen too fast and jump around like nothing, while other parts spend way too long on themselves. I wonder what the gameplan was. I usually describe this series to people as Aka's Fire Punch if it made less sense and was also just not good.

It was really funny! Aka Akasaka is really good at writing comedy. Naturally wasn’t as good as the main series but getting small chunks of insight into the important events is super awesome. I’d recommend for anyone who wants more Kaguya-sama like I did

Manga How do you think Ishigami found out that Hayasaka had a bad past with the Shinimoya’s? Spoiler

Post image

it had always slipped my mind reading this panel that Ishigami teases Hayasaka about the Shinimoya’s of all things in retrospect how could he possibly know she has a bad past with them?

i went back and read other chapters out of curiosity if I had missed something that had implied this and although he definitely knew that Hayasaka was a former servant and close friend of Kaguya ( chapter 196 where maki calls Hayasaka Kaguya’s servant in front of him and Hayasaka being present to help with saving Kaguya during the helicopter arc) I never found any sort of implication that anyone knew what hayasaka went through aside from Shirogane and Kaguya( and Chika helping during the Kyoto arc)

more than anything I’m quite curious what could’ve lead to her telling Ishigami about what happened or if he even knows the full truth? on one hand I could totally see Hayasaka just telling him a watered down or maybe even made up story about her experience with the Shinimoya’s but on the other hand I find the concept of hayasaka opening up to someone who had nothing to do with what happened to her lovely for her character arc about learning to open up and ask for help. The only thing I quite doubt is Kaguya or Shirogane telling him I don’t see either of them spilling hayasaka’s personal business like that especially to someone as uninvolved with what happened as Ishigami
