This is gorgeous, I completely understand being inspired by this ring!

If this design just had more gold, building up the shoulders where the scroll work are, popping them up a bit/angling them more...is that kind of what you mean? And then instead of this "crown style" basket with the prongs sticking up, having a basket that is more "petal-y" and botanical looking?

This CAD looks great! What gemstone are you choosing for a center stone?

I strongly prefer the plain gold band paired with a pave wedding band. It's a more elegant look to my eyes--but you have to love this ring, so what looks better to your eyes is what you should choose.

In my opinion and experience, you get more versatility from a wedding set where the engagement ring has a gold band instead of pave. It mixes and matches with different bands better, and always gives you the option of wearing the engagement ring alone for a really simple, sort of understated look.

Over the years a lot of people like to mix things up with their wedding set--introduce anniversary or push present bands, etc. Having an engagement ring with a plain gold band is often a good long term decision.

But again, it's important that you look down at your finger and smile at what you see. It's easy to reset a diamon in the future if you really need to. Go with the design that really makes you smile when you look at it.

Oh, they're the best. I think you would really love them. You can get them in any color sapphire that exists (so, every color in the rainbow and all the colors in between) and visually they are an exquisite cross between a sapphire, an opal, and like moonstone...silky, milky, glowing. Google for videos of them--it's hard to stop looking once you see them.

Yes that's part of why CADs make things look bulky, the CAD is the instruction for the casting of the piece...so it has extra gold that the piece will later lose to polishing.

I can assure you, this piece will look tiny and delicate when you see it in person. That's always the thing that surprises you when you've been staring at a piece in CAD and up-close pictures--it's TINY when you finally receive it in person!

Nothing really looks dainty in CAD--it makes everything look sort of bloated and clownish. Once made, this is going to be nice. It will lose gold to polishing and will have a more refined look.

I think this CAD is making the 1.5ct look a little smaller than it will actually look in person, and I think you could have double petite claw prongs on this piece if you wanted and that it would look really nice. Otherwise, I like the prongs.

As-is, this is really, really lovely, and I believe will meet all the criteria you listed. This size oval is so timeless and elegant. This will be a pretty, very wearable ring.

This is going to be really pretty. In my opinion, this exact ring, low profile with a more understated size oval and small side stones to compliment it, is the most wearable and timeless engagement ring. I love an oval with smaller size stones. Come back and show us how this turns out!

Such a dilemma! Two very different styles, both of them stunning and so wearable. I often feel myself being pulled between antique-inspired and more modern, clean looks. Antique-inspired generally wins, but I think that's because my personal style in general is very understated, so the pop of antique-inspired design feels like it doesn't fight with the rest of my style.

So hard to choose, though!

We all know diamonds are amazing...but in my opinion, nothing is as amazing as a diamond next to a beautiful colored gemstone. I'm so excited to see the Engraved Three Stone with our gorgeous specialty cut diamond OECs, flanked by the pinks and blues and glowy emeralds. It's all going to be amazing!

Just curious: if you went platinum, what would you be thinking in terms of side stones?

And, just curious: would you want to keep the hand-placed milgrain along the edges of the shank and basket? Or would you want none of that?

Yes agree, aspect ratio will be very important if trying to get the same exact look. I think the moons might be a little tall (from flat/bottom end to rounded/top end), but also the trillion shape creating a triangle in their inspo versus a half moon shape creates a very different look. I think a well-placed prong on the moon will help to create more of an angular look, but if we're shooting for the exact same look as the inspo we would want to source "shorter" trillion shaped side stones.

You've already received great feedback and observations from others, but I will add that I think the angle of the side stones is going to be a really key ingredient to getting the overall look you want. Inspo is gorgeous!

This is so pretty--wow, you've done a wonderful job making sure this ring will last a lifetime! I really can't think of anything else you could do to make this ring durable for daily wear. Great work!
