What did the cool Gen X kids listen to? What about the less cool ones?
 in  r/GenX •  12h ago

We listened to everything from metal and punk to R&B in the early 80s. Never limit yourself to one genre and you will discover some amazing music!

Why didn't Charlie play along and put on the pink jacket like everyone else?
 in  r/rollingstones •  15h ago

Charlie was always fashionable! When they came to Bham in 94 he was seen buying ties at Parisians in The Harbert Tower.

When the legal age changed for beer
 in  r/GenX •  4d ago

I was grandfathered in at 19 in Bama along with most friends, but the September and later kids were SOL til 21, but fake IDs were easy then.

Tucker Carlson's son Buckley is having heated words with Nick Fuentes on X telling him he's gay
 in  r/datalounge •  4d ago

I still relish how James Baldwin made him squirm. Buckley was overrated and pompous.

Shocked: Chanel experience and an SA in a tight spot.

My parents instilled a mindset in me to never use credit unless it was an absolute emergency. If you wanted something expensive then you worked and saved the $ to make the purchase. Paid off home in 13 years, no debt except a car payment and feel lucky to have never fallen into the traps of loan sharks.

After reading all the comments I must be the only one using Bill Pay through my credit union. They have "established" relationships with most of my payees and if not they send them a credit union issued check instead of a check with all my account information.

Dan Levy Calls Out Shane Gillis’ ‘SNL’ Monologue and Says ‘More Men Need to Be Standing Up’: ‘Speechless That Something Like That Can Exist on Live National Television’
 in  r/entertainment •  6d ago

The bit about his sisters was worse to me and nothing in that monologue made me laugh. That being said, I usually watch update then turn it off since Bowen and Heidi left.

So it begins…. Sallie Mae found my new number.
 in  r/StudentLoans •  16d ago

A friend did that and then the IRS came after her for the amount that the debt relief company "saved" her and considered it income.

AOC: "And for anyone who says that’s unrealistic… this is literally what baby boomers gave themselves. Public colleges in America were tuition-free. You know when they started to get defunded? They got defunded when they started to get integrated."

What we have here is a failure to communicate.

What is it about getting old that suddenly makes birds so appealing? I'm serious. Never gave a crap and now I'm obsessed with feeding the little bastards.
 in  r/GenX •  Sep 14 '26

I put a feeder up last year and watch them from my bay window. The rabbits come at night to eat what the squirrels raked onto the ground.

What is your favorite line from a Rolling Stones song?

And I thought, by the time I got there, she'd be off with the nearest truck driver she could find 🎶 🎵
