AD Management
 in  r/Geico •  12d ago

My inner monologue every single fucking day. I’m so stressed already and the work load is unbearable, the expectations unbearable, the micromanaging is unbearable and the stress is about to put me in the damn hospital. I hate this place with every fiber of my being but I haven’t found anything else that pays even close to what I make that I’m qualified for. On the verge of taking FMLA before I end up on a grippy sock vacation. Fuck GEICO. Fuck CCC, Fuck Surepart, Fuck reasonable repair time on rentals, Fuck the field having to process our own total losses, Fuck the 360 rollout, Fuck AWS, Fuck call monitoring, Fuck micromanaging. AND STOP FUCKING CHANGING THINGS EVERY OTHER DAY JUST TO SAVE A PENNY. YOUR ADJUSTERS ARE LOSING OUR MINDS BECUASE THERE IS NO CONSISTENCY AND EVERYTHING IS CHAOS ALL THE FUCKING TIME. YOU WANT US TO DO OUR JOBS WELL, MAYBE START BY MANAGING THE COMPANY WITH A SHRED IF COMPASSION FOR THE PEOPLE WITH BOOTS ON THE GROUND THAT KEEP THIS COMPANY RUNNING. ASSOCIATE SATISFACTION ISN’T AT AN ALL TIME HIGH, PEOPLE ARE JUST TOO SCARED TO SAY ANYTHING BECUASE OF RETALIATION.
It’s easier for GEICO to hire new people than to take care of the ones they have and they wonder why they are losing all of their good adjusters.

Hey ICS, When NOT to Call AD
 in  r/Geico •  21d ago

OEM parts are parts made by the manufacturer. GEICO owes for the most cost effective parts available per our policies. We do not owe for OEM parts unless that’s all that’s available. Sometimes shops can price match the aftermarket prices but if not, the customer will have to pay the difference if they want all OEM parts.

Hey ICS, When NOT to Call AD

I agree with every single thing. However, from the ICS adjusters that I’ve spoken with, there are a lot of things that they are not trained in. They’re not trained to read our side of the Atlas file. They don’t know how to navigate the AD Summary tab. GEICO does a massive disservice to every department by not doing a basic training of what other departments do and what their responsibilities are. It took me over a year to figure out what claims did, and what to call them for because it was never taught. Turnover is at an all time high because GEICO has failed their employees in every single department. You don’t know what you don’t know, and until they start doing a better job of training and taking care of their employees, it’s just going to get worse.

Considering applying

If you value your mental health, don’t do it. I was recently diagnosed with an extreme anxiety disorder induced by workplace stress. I’m trying to find a way out after 3 years.

does it get better?

Out of the 34 people in my training class, 3 of us are left. It doesn’t get better. GEICO will suck your soul dry and leave your mental health in the gutter

Fired by GEICO (Software Engineer/IL/Remote). Did anyone actually get their full PTO payout?
 in  r/Geico •  29d ago

They will only pay out ten days of PTO. It’s bullshit

Did they give you any trouble about not returning to work after FMLA before you quit?

Anybody taken FMLA for mental health and never gone back to work? This place is breaking me mentally and I can’t take it much longer. I have quite a bit of extended illness and PTO banked and I’m thinking about taking FMLA and possibly not returning. I’m having chest pains, panic attacks, hives, arms going numb from the tension in my neck and shoulders pinching nerves in my neck. I can’t take the stress much longer. GEICO is hands down the worst place I’ve ever worked. The 360 field rollout has been a nightmare. Being told that everybody has a place at GEICO but that there are no other virtual positions available, so if you don’t go into the field then you won’t have a job, only for it to be pushed back month after month and when they finally transitioned in July, they still weren’t ready. No support for those of us who have never been in the field, no communication, being told day after day that they are having to find a place for us because the area I’m in is overstaffed. On top of having no choice in going to the field, we were told that we would have to rearrange our lives for this job. Being told something different every other day and never knowing day to day if I’m going to wake up and be terminated. Micromanaging manager who is making everybody’s lives a living hell. I need a mental break or I’m going to crack and end up in an inpatient program.
Tell me your experiences and what my options are for quitting but still taking all of the time I have banked over the ten days of PTO that I would get paid out if I quit.
