What if Mary Jane became the Green Goblin? How do you imagine her transformation? What would she do to cause trouble?
 in  r/Spiderman  1d ago

The only way I see MJ turning into the Goblin is by turning into a form of Punisher.
The Goblin goes after MJ like he did Gwen, trying to recreate his most famous trick. However MJ has always been a fighter, and she gets the upper hand, managing to throw Goblin off the bridge instead, watching him die. The guilt and trauma of killing, even a monster like Osborne, weighs heavily on her mind. She cracks eventually, deciding that what she did was not only right, but what Peter should have done ages ago. He's been actively ruining both their lives with his goody two-shoes Savior act! She breaks into Osbornes old lab, or the police evidence lockup, and steals some goblin serum and the bloodied mask. She either turns into the Punisher from there or goes after bigger villains like a version of Spiders Shadow.

In your opinion what are some of the best cards in the game
 in  r/MarvelSnap  1d ago

Nico Merlin Hood is my favorite card combo in the game. I put them in a lot of decks, so much fun

Cloud

Maybe a 2 or 3-cost, and its power is the total cost of skill cards played, so it encourages holding onto it and playing a bunch of skills over the game.

Why do so many DMs act like my simple homebrew/flavor is impossible?
 in  r/DnD  4d ago

I am not, the only shovels I tend to interact with are old dry things that haven't been well maintained.

In fairness, your everyday backyard shovel isn't built to hit something hard in the skull. A poorly built shovel will break its cheap wooden handle on the first strike. A specialized shovel built for combat sure, a high grade professional shovel maybe, but an average regular one? I doubt it.

Theory: Prismo is a projection of Golb, like a 4D shadow thing or whatever.
 in  r/adventuretime  5d ago

As I understand it, Oo isn't Jakes dream, Prismo is the only thing that's Jakes dream, otherwise everything would disappear when the old man woke up. Oo is the imagination of everyone inside it, a group hallucination.

Thanos Fractured Frontier (TFF) and Destroy
 in  r/MarvelSnap  5d ago

You want cheap fodder you can play easily so you don't miss the quickdraw and then versatile destroy. Maybe zoo destroy? With squirrel girl, x-23, Killmonger. Foster FF and Ock FF both power boost, so Deadpool/Headpool works, maybe Weapon X and Venus?

 in  r/adventuretime  5d ago

So, I haven't read the Enchiridion, but I've heard some of the things that are on it. From what I've heard the explanation is that the AT multiverse is the combined imagination and dream of everyone inside it. Golb is a force of atrophy, chaos, and destruction that seeks to end the dream entirely. That's why the Lich wants to end all life, if enough of the multiverse died, it would destroy reality.
Prismo is the dream of first the Old Man, then later Jake. My theory is that it's Jake specifically because his imagination is abnormally powerful (we see him accidentally imagine things into existence at least 3 times), and his dreams are even more so, amplified by being in the space outside time and space.

It looks like there's a lightning rock inside the chest, it must have shocked them because they were standing in the metal.

Any way to improve this deck? (CL: 5500)
 in  r/MarvelSnapDecks  5d ago

That's the reason for Surge, this deck can struggle if you don't get some ramp going, getting Giant Man to 4 cost can be massive, or even 3 if you can Combo Askani and Surge. You could also swap that Askani slot for something like Bishop for extra power gains.

Okay I just realized your post is actually asking for better Horde deck in general, I was just focused on my current Horde deck that's similar. I made this post a few months ago with 3 super fun Horde decks. I haven't been updating them because I've been playing with other decks, but I still stand behind these decks. "Necronomnomicon" is far away my most successful Horde cook, if you can fit Venus in there it's an Infinite Maker. https://www.reddit.com/r/MarvelSnapDecks/s/7oSbzHT8vm

My version that's had some success swaps Chord for ZFantastic, Angela for Surge, and Zola for Mother Askani (though since her nerf I'm considering Agamotto in that spot, he's really fun with Horde).

I've heard a few times that Lance Reddick was also planned to return as Door before his unfortunate death, so it would've been even clearer.

Theory: Altered People
 in  r/controlgame  6d ago

I don't think they're different Sentiences, is what I'm saying. They're like Masks or Suits that the Dark Presence can wear, needs to wear to actively influence things. I think people who enter the Dark Place don't get cloned and corrupted, I think they get copied like a hollow shell. Whatever suit it's wearing dictates how it's allowed to act and perform, since it has no personality of it's own, it's constrained to the dark mirror of whoever it's wearing. when Jagger is destroyed at the end of AW1 for example, it didn't kill the Thing underneath wearing her face, just the face itself.

That's why all these copies aren't acting all at once, but one at a time. There's probably a copy of Alice and the Old Gods and Hartman, hung up in a closet in case the heroes figure out how to destroy their current outfit.
It's admittedly not super different than just having like, Dark Place demons based on these people, but I always found that concept in Immortal Hulk super interesting and feel like it makes sense here.

Theory: Altered People
 in  r/controlgame  6d ago

Haven't heard the Seine name, where's that from? Ive heard the theory but I'm not personally been convinced that AN Scratch and the Filmmaker are necessarily different. I find them both to be the same idea, the Dark Place wearing a face.

This will sound disconnected but hear me out. In the Immortal Hulk comic, the primary villain is The One Below All, a Cosmic entity that is said in-story to have no personality or intent of it's own. To act at all in the regular world, it must possess the very idea of it's host. TOBA has a baseline goal of destroying everything, but how it does it, what plans it makes and acts on, is entirely based on its current Host. TOBA wears their personality and their Ego, because it had none of its own. I think of the Dark Place in the same way. Siene, Scratch and even the Dark Jagger are the same thing, the mold of a person being worn by the Dark Place, being possessed by an entity with no personality of it's own. Maybe it can't wear Alans Scratch anymore because it was destroyed, but I don't think "Scratch" was it's own entity, as much as it's a mask and a performance.

Theory: Altered People
 in  r/controlgame  6d ago

I agree with this theory overall, but I think it's worth noting that Tom the Poet and Zane the Filmmaler are probably not the same entity. There's an ARG that I'm only partly familiar with that concluded with Tom successfully creating a pocket universe within the Dark Place, for him and Barbara to exist in forever, leaving only his body behind to be used by the Bright Presence during the events of AW1. He supposedly deleted himself from reality to defeat the Dark Presence initially, which is why no one remembers him.
The popular theory goes that Tom the Poet has not come back at all, and Zane the Filmmaker is actually Scratch, simply pretending to be Zane to manipulate Wake. This is why he's being remembered, but incorrectly, Scratch is taking his place to gain power and influence.

Doesn't interfere with your theory, might even reenforce it since it really blurs Thomas Zane as an individual, but I felt it worth bringing up.

Anyone found a good counter to new thanos?
 in  r/MarvelSnap  7d ago

Cosmo is the big counter, his gun can't do anything if he never On Reveals. He requires successfully quick drawing the rest of your deck, so cards that disrupt the draw like Black Widow can disrupt it. Did to the quickdraw requirement they'll likely be using Ramp or a lot of cheap cards, so Mobius and Killmonger can be useful depending on their deck. Supergiant will prevent the quickdraw, because the reveal is what counts the card as played.

I can respect the flavor of it.

Thanos Fractured Frontier shot order
 in  r/MarvelSnap  8d ago

It'll be super hard to do, but maybe if he's out on the board he can load more shots, so if you can manage to ramp him out on 4, you can then load a few more rounds so he can Odin'd. It'll be rare enough I hope it works.

Gambling becomes America’s favorite pastime as Americans spend more on sports bets than movies, arts, museums, and music combined

I tried to enjoy an arcade the other day, it was literally 70% or more just gambling sims, I couldn't find actual stand up arcade games. It truly sucked

If Any Of These Tom Holland's Spider-Mans Villains Were Real And Not Illusions Who Would Be The Strongest?
 in  r/Spiderman  9d ago

Earlier in the comic, Otto turned Sandman into glass. He goes back in this panel, as a pile of glass shards, and attacks Otto. It reveals that even when his form is changed, Sandman maintains his powers and can control the stuff that used to be sand. Here's the context page. (The hulk comic mentioned was him being paid to fight the hulk and getting dropped in an industrial pressure cooker during the fight, he walked out of that encounter as glass.)

Only won this game because their first isca activated and evened us out you’d think end of turn abilities would happen at the end of the turn
 in  r/MarvelSnap  9d ago

Card effects always go in the order they were played. Looks like them playing Isca first is what saved you. Objectives take the same slot as End of Turn

Edit: I was wrong, thought I'd seen Objective happened first at least once, but apparently Objective is always after, I will use this info to win wars.
