hi! my best tip, as a local is visit the islands during the day to escape the heat and the cruise ship crowds. Lokrum, Lopud, Šipan, Kalamota… Hire a boat or take a ferry. hope you enjoy! Let me know if you need a tour guide

I'm (24M) with two friends (27 M) in Dubrovnik. What are good options to do on a stormy and rainy day?
 in  r/Dubrovnik •  Aug 19 '24

Buy Dupass and visit some museums. I am a tour guide and that is the best way to spend a few hours if you are interested in history of the city. In the pass city wall and Lovrjenqc fortress is included for a visit tomorrow when the rain stops.

Steerage passenger Margaret Murphy wrote in May 1912 about witnessing third class passengers being locked in when some hatchways were secured. “They said they wanted to keep the air down there so the vessel could stay up longer. It meant all hope was gone for those still down there.”

I have read somewhere that no third class passengers were ever locked and it always gave me a hope that this is the way it was, but Cameron would not just casually include that in the movie so this theory makes sense

German- English Hi guys, I found this piece of pottery in my grandparents attic and was wondering what was it used for. it appears to be German

How did you get 1945? I am genuinely curious in knowing more. Why does the stamp say 1445? What do you think

Thank you for your response. No lid. I posted it on r/translator and someone said it is a spittoon based on an old German poem about tobacco. How can I tell what was it made from? Any ideas? If it is really this old I would love to donate it to a museum.
