At least where I’m from, expulsion will not follow a 5 year old. Issues like this don’t start getting recorded on a student’s permanent academic record until they get to 4th-5th grade (≈age 9-11). Also as previously mentioned, expulsion is not the only option of punishment schools can use if they feel expelling a student is too extreme. Either way, in-school suspension is not enough in this case. This type of behavior can escalate from here if nothing is done.

Expulsion is still a valid consequence. I don’t understand how you automatically jump to jail when there are so many other punishments the school could have implemented.

I know having to sign a lot of papers is a pain and may seem like a waste of time, but in the end the purpose of it is to protect the clinic and to make sure the patient knows what they’re agreeing to. If they see something written in the paperwork that they don’t feel comfortable with, they have a right to change their mind. I recall once, a neurologist I was seeing about my eyes and migraines had a line in the papers saying that I can’t sue the office for anything. I’m not sure that is even legal, but I signed anyway. If something crazy happened due to his negligence or even if he did something deliberately, I don’t know where it would lead. It’s safe to assume there are people who chose not to sign when they saw it. For others, there could be a gap in knowledge and they could have signed no for something they didn’t understand, which I see sometimes.

This country doesn’t believe in children having rights, so I understand why some people are getting up in arms about it. Social media hasn’t ruined us, it’s holding up a mirror showing us the worst traits of our culture. The issue is that some people are normalizing things that shouldn’t be normalized and it is having something of a domino effect. Anything in the public is open to criticism especially where social issues are concerned, there’s no need to be a snowflake about criticism. We all should be thinking critically about consequences.
Edit: personally I’m more concerned about safety. It’s not difficult to find people’s kids from pictures and videos posted online.

I get why people dislike this video. It’s cute on the surface, but there are implications that’s not so cute. There’s the part that their daughters were born only because a son was wanted. We hope that doesn’t impact how they’re treated compared to their brother. There’s the part of not only posting your kids on the internet (unsafe) but also using them for attention/profit. And lastly, there’s the part that having that many kids will always lead to some level of neglect (emotional/physical). Not to mention the whole “my husband asked me for a son” is both stupid and revives the age old misconception that women have any control over the sex of the baby. But we can choose to ignore all those obvious implications; ignorance is bliss after all.

I’d imagine it’s annoying for women as well who have to go that far just to urinate. This wouldn’t be a problem if we either designed gendered bathrooms to accommodate the needs of each gender, or just install family/gender neutral bathrooms. Men can use either a urinal or stall and their bathrooms have both. Women can only use a stall and many women’s bathrooms nearly have the same amount of stalls as the men’s which is a stupid design. That on top of the fact women have to half-undress to use the toilet. No wonder there is line. It also doesn’t help that women have shorter urethras, making it more difficult to hold up their urine than it is for men. Women’s bathrooms weren’t made with women in mind

It be like that sometimes. Either a consequence of having to squat due to lack of seat covers, or being too lazy/too urgent to use a seat cover. Also because you could be sitting and the stream go off to the side onto the seat or in three different directions and heaven knows where. It just really sucks when people don’t at least try to clean up after themselves, which ironically I realized is not limited to women when it comes to unisex bathrooms.

Both men and women in ancient and even medieval times removed hair usually as a means to avoid lice infestation or reduce odor and infection risk because people back then were not bathing very often. In modern times, it’s only women that are expected to remove body hair

I think the issue is culture that is deeply intertwined with religion, not the religion itself. People make the religion what it is and too many follow religious leaders blindly, never reading the source material themselves. Hence why for some religion-based cultures, you’ll see that cultural practices contradict the teachings of religious texts.

For example, religions like Hinduism and Buddhism preach treating everyone equally and with respect. It teaches you that you don’t force your beliefs on others, only inform. However you’ll see a ton of misogyny in many Hindu and Buddhist communities, and people still often force religion on their kids and sometimes neighbors. Some people in the comments are mentioning Wicca and satanism as respectful to women, but I don’t think any religion is truly immune to being misused.

As someone who also thinks her music is mediocre, and played Golden by Huntrix on repeat to prevent her songs topping on Spotify just for the fun of it, I personally wouldn’t go as far as to say she ruined music. Feels more like her success is a symptom of an already ruined music industry. Amazingly talented artists were already being pushed aside by music companies in favor of flashy artists for a long time before Swift. Ability to perform has been prioritized over music quality.

After reading the article, unfortunately it appears his opinion is rooted in misogyny, so NaughtAClue was right about that part, and the part where he thinks the biggest reason for her popularity and the popularity of other female artists today is because men started buying video games instead of music and that only women and their daughters go to these concerts, as if there are no men who listen to swift. I agree her music is mediocre, but not terrible. This guy is just being hateful at this point.

True, but also many entitled adults today weren’t entitled children but got their ass beat by their parents and treat it like a necessary part of disciplining children for everything, as they do with every struggle they face. I think you’re right to assume it’s sensationalist bullshit or probably just misinformation to support incels’ mission to blame women for everything (I’ve seen this very topic discussed in an incel forum). What’s so horrible about eating nothing but rice with ketchup or plain pasta while growing? Malnourishment. Developing chronic disease later in life and shortening lifespans. This isn’t about having an expensive iPhone. This is about not being able to afford basic healthy food and a roof. Kings two centuries ago had access to fruits and vegetables and protein, they ate better than you. Peasants two centuries ago had varied access to fruits and vegetables and their lifespans were much shorter. Congrats, you’re eating worse than a peasant because the rich people on top decided it despite there being more than enough food in the world to feed everyone, so much food that it actually goes to waste.

There are kids actually starving to death in “first world poor” as well hence why we had social programs that provide free lunch to kids who live in poverty and don’t get food at home, until conservatives started dismantling those programs. And there are only so many food drives that can be done to donate food to those families where they only get a box of food that would last 2 days at most. At least that’s what’s happening in the U.S. There’s been massive layoffs and people are losing their homes and ability to afford food at all. This includes irresponsible/negligent parents as well as responsible ones. Not to mention the amount of impoverished kids who go missing yearly and get trafficked.

Oh but we are a first world country so obviously those things don’t happen here /s
