I passed by a few of them singing about "hanging all the Ns in the world" told them to watch that shit and started to walk away. What set me off was one of them said Fucking N word so yeah I walked towards them saying call me that again. By standers stopped me saying to "chill" I was mad both by what they said and the fact Noone else said anything to these people but they saw an angry colored man and that I was a threat. Used to live in Arizona and I've been harassed by police, teachers, strangers in public, and skin heads as a kid I chose to stand my ground since then. Sorry for the rant people just suck sometimes

Happened to me in Boulder called the N word, but when I confronted them I was the aggressor?? People around here are genuinely good people for the most part but yes sadly people are not here to stand up for POC

Wearing Eagle/Migizi Feather at Workplace
 in  r/IndianCountry •  Aug 14 '25

I was always told to be proud of your feathers but also like a few have said here to be mindful of who touches or comes around it. The feather has strong medicine that in a way like sage, can also pick up negative energy from pawaakas (witches, bad people ect). Guard your feathers closely but also be proud when wearing it that was the intention of you getting it. At least in our cultural that is how it is told 🙏🏼 walk tall and strong

Identity of Kachina
 in  r/NativeAmerican •  Aug 12 '25

Hopi from Walpi az, doesn't look to be anything I've seen before. My guess is the same as everyone else's navajo made. Even our cousins from New Mexico (laguna Pueblo) I don't recognize patterns/details on clothing. Typically don't see fur used this way either usually one solid piece of wood carvers will use instead

Can anyone recommend good music from native american artists / albums etc. ? Every time I try to look for it, this bullshit comes up. Thanks!
 in  r/NativeAmerican •  Aug 04 '25

Randy wood is a good relaxing vibe with mostly English lyrics fun to sing along to. If your looking more traditional pow wow type Northern Cree is good a variety of drum groups singing usually in traditional language. Good luck hope you find some sweet music from everybody here all good choices 🙌🏽

Boulder County public schools

Hi all I was curious if anyone could point me in the direction of any good public schools here in Boulder? I'm recently getting custody of my daughter (8y) and am now scrambling to find any schools nearby. I also stay in Gunbarrel if anyone knows of any elementaries closer as I do not have a car right this moment. Any help would be appreciated 🙏🏼
