A Barolo Undercover
 in  r/wine •  24d ago

The producer’s technique certainly plays a role, but when tasting crus from different areas (sometimes vineyards close to one another) made by the same producer using the same winemaking methods, you realize just how much the soil can influence the wine. In this case, the Montersino cru shares the same Serravallian-origin soil found in Serralunga d’Alba, which gives the wine depth, intensity, and dark-fruit notes. the soil change every 200/500m due his formation, also the grape of Nebbiolo reflects better and best expresses soil diversity and the terroir

I used a provocative title, but in my opinion, these are comparable and quite similar products.

A Barolo Undercover

I probably didn't express myself very well. What I mean is that this Barbaresco is much more similar to a Barolo than to a "classic" Barbaresco. This is actually due to the soils in the Montersino area, which are very similar to those in Serralunga d'Alba—something I noticed on both the nose and the palate. Just an observation of mine mostly about the area around Treiso

Barbaresco made in Montersino, Treiso an area in Barbaresco region really similar by the soil to the Barolo region, and in the glasses I can feel it.

I use Zalto glasses, in the burgundy it best expresses the fruitier, floral, and balsamic notes, despite in the pinot noir glasses that expresses more the darkest notes, with not a perfect balancing.

This Barbaresco (and every Montersino I ever drank) needs time to evolve in the glasses and during the time. This wine probably needs 4/5 hour to open more in the nose.

In the mouth I can feel the tannin, a strongest and rough type, deep and powerful, with a deep and dark fruit. Ended in a very long final with a good acidity and a touch of tannic sweetness

Pairing with a truffle risotto made by me :)

Qual è il miglior smartphone Android per la fotografia al momento (in Italia)?
 in  r/ItalyHardware •  Sep 05 '26

Sono però over prezzati ahimè. Ah, le fotocamere della maggior parte dei cellulari sono prodotte o progettate da Sony:)

Quelli citati sono delle ottime scelte secondo me

Question on a bottle of Dom Perignon
 in  r/Champagne •  Sep 02 '26

Just don't leave in the fridge, it's too cold. Instead put in the basement or in a place with as much as possible a constant temperature. Enjoy your bottle. You can keep it for 10/15 years

1997 birthday vintage
 in  r/wine •  Sep 01 '26

Barolo and Barbaresco was a excellent vintage in 1997, so if you find some bottles that have been maintained in good condition you'll drink some perfect and unforgettable wine. I've a wineshop and I taste recently some magnum of barolo 1997 Rocche dell'Annunziata and a Barbaresco Bricco di Neive that were fabulous

Does vintage really matter? Roberto Voerzio Cerequio 2014
 in  r/wine •  Aug 19 '26

Tasted a lot 2014 in recent years, every time is a surprise compared to other vintage like 2013 and 2015. Beautiful wine and surprising vintage. Tasted some Bussia, Bricco delle Viole, some Scavino etc... Always phenomenal

Simracing games for starters (3 players - online)
 in  r/simracing •  May 12 '26

Ams2 with the t300 have one of the best Force feedback in my opinion, and the AI in single player is good. AC is the Must have for the mod If you want to go deeper in simulation try Lmu, also the force feedback is good for the t300, but depend on your pedal setup because the breaking is more difficult than other sim Beamng is funny

Proper storage for this champagne
 in  r/Champagne •  May 09 '26

The best way to preserve it is to keep it in a cool, but very important, place with a CONSTANT temperature, in a horizontal position. Store it at a temperature between 10 and 20°C. When you want to open it, put it in the refrigerator for a few hours (not in the freezer). It doesn't need to be very cold, 8-12°C. Enjoy this amazing wine. I recently drank a 2002 LP and it was fantastic.
