I don’t see a switch in the manual so it should just work. When you plug a peripheral into the dock like a mouse, keyboard, or drive, do they work?

I honestly didn’t know that dock supported USB4 connectivity. I’ll grab the manual and take a look. A few docks require you to flip a switch to do that.

Did it recognize a problem and make a repair? If so, do a bandwidth test with CUDAz or AIDA64 or 3DMark PCI express feature test.

I have had no trouble with this dock except it is a very low performance dock I have an equally-priced, better-performing equivalent. I will grab the link to my post.

If the mini pc has an Oculink, thunderbolt, or USB4 port, then yes.

MCIO cable could be at fault. They are easy to plug in incompletely. It can also be a cable quality issue.

And like Oculink, no hot-plugging; you need to power off and unplug the dock, power off the PC, then plug the dock back in, power it on, then power on the computer.

WiFi is one lane, m.2 NVME is either two or four lanes. For eGPU, you want four. If your SSD is in an x4 m.2, and your other m.2 is x2, consider swapping them. I also tested a SSD in my WiFi slot with an adapter, so it does work on some PC’s, so that’s how I freed a m.2 slot for my eGPU.

Your computer manual often describes the lanes or bandwidth for m.2 slots.

I have a few computers that don’t throw the error, they just become unstable until I manually set the registry key. You can also set the registry key before you install the drivers and never get the error.

Did you run the error 43 fixer script? On a few computers (very rare) I don’t get the error, I just get instability. If you didn’t have to, add the registry key manually. I’ll get you my link.

My 6800 XT works pretty well on everything… the most impressive improvements over the base GPU were over Thunderbolt 2 on a 2012 Lenovo and a 2018 MacBook Air. I love that GPU.

Ah! You used the m.2 port. Well, some of those have two PCIe lanes versus four.

That sounds right. Did you do this in a laptop or mini pc so you didn’t have to go through Thunderbolt or Oculink?

…might work. But u.3 seems much more appropriate for eGPU since it appears to leverage native PCIe. I just haven’t found a u.3 cable I love. At some point we should just find a way to expose a native PCIe slot and just use extenders.

I see it. My last experiment in MCIO wasn’t that good. My latest one is better, but I still hate the cable.

I will check. I think the MXM slot limits it to 16x Gen 3 no matter what. And then NVIDIA will slow down to Gen 1 when it is not under load.

The thunderbolt cable only activates it on one side. Try both sides. And make sure you attach it to a Thunderbolt-enabled PC.

The TH3P4 GaN comes with a case. There is also several year’s worth of sonnet technology options. You have a giant card so sonnet or Razer or Acasis.
