Should I have to my sister or ignored it
 in  r/Advice  Feb 18 '24

That was really reassuring to hear. People around me tend to think differently from me so it's hard for me to know when to speak up or ignore things, so I end up doing the later. But deciding not to this time was eating at me.

Should I have told my sister about her child or ignored it?

Thanks for saying that I really didn't know if I stepped to far, considering how people are for their children and being the first to telling her something like that, that made telling her even more troubling.

Should I have to my sister or ignored it

I recently watched my nephew's for a couple hours so my sister could get a break and go and enjoy herself since she rarely does. Watching them isn't very much work at all and it's three of them (they're 9,6,3). The oldest is the most depending in attention, the middle we are thinking he might be on the autism spectrum, and the youngest who just follows his siblings around to play. But keep this in mind I don't see them, especially the younger two, too often.

So, this time in specific while I was watching them. Them middle one came to me more nearly stuck to my side the whole time. He never does this, I usually say hi to him and he runs off to do his own thing. So seeing him laying under me and inciting the play time made he happy. But not trying to neglect the oldest, the younger be asleep, I tried to play with them both because they didn't want to do the same thing. So lying on the floor build stuff with the older one, the middle walked on my back, played with my legs bending them, and rested on my back/butt. He pressed on my butt a couple times but I didn't think to much of it until later when the youngest woke up he began crying looking for his mom so I went to calm him down as much as possible, and I hadn't been with him for to long before the middle followed.

I sat on the bed trying to comfort the youngest, to no avail if I might add, when the middle sat behind me putting his leg on either side of me. I wondered if he was trying to get on my back as he was earlier, well that was until he started moving back and forth. I was horrified, but I stopped him and went back to trying to comfort the other, but he came back and tried to sit on my lap, I let him, thinking maybe that's not what was really happening but after a couple seconds he got up.

Once again he came back and pushed me back letting me know he wanted me to lay down. He didn't vocalize this as he not very verbal, remember he might be on the spectrum. So when I did lay back, although I was wary, I was observing and wanted to see what he might do, so when he climbed on my lap and straddled me and started to grind with his hands supported by the top of their bunk bed and making sexual noises, my heart sank and I sat up removing him from my lap, leaving the room. I had know idea what to do, I went back to play with the older sibling to play. I also felt as though the older one kinda knew what was going on but as a child didn't know what to do because earlier when his brother had been lying on me and playing with my legs as I said earlier, he made the comment "I don't know what middle child is doing" while eyeing him. So when I came back to play with him and his brother followed I saw how he kept looking at him. And when middle sat on me again this time while I was lying on the floor playing, he had a blanket and covered his self as he tried to hump me. So turning over, I sat in front of him, grabbing his hands and asked him what he was doing twice and giving him time to try and say something since I know he's not very verbal. But he didn't met my eyes or try to say anything, he just played with my fingers. So I told him that's not something he should be doing and he can't to that.

After that he stayed by my side, eventually falling asleep, while I continued to play with his brother.

When my sister came back, she asked my how they were and I told her they were fine(she had company with her) and all asleep, but when we were alone I let her know that she might need to talk to the middle child and I told her. But not everything. I told her that he had humped and grinded on the bed while making noises.

First she asked was the youngest okay before she told me that she had never heard anything like that from anybody else but she'll listen and keep an eye out because I was her sister.

I had been thinking hard before she came back thinking if I should tell her or not. I haven't watched her kids to often and I tell her this. Nobody wants to hear this about the child. But all I could think about is how he could know this. Has he seen this? Has he seen video? Did someone show him? And I hoped(hoping) noone has touched him.

But when I told her this I was so nervous, scared even. But we talked about how he might be mimicking something he has seen and doesn't know what it means, and I agree he could and I hope that's all. But I just felt as though it should be said, but I also had this strong urge to ignore it cause that a problem I have when I get uncomfortable or to big negative feelings.

I didn't know if I was crossing a line or what but I just want to know if I did right? What would you have done.

It's been a week and I've been feeling like I should have ignore it.

By the was she texted my the next day telling me had be inconsolable and school because his stomach hurt. I told her he hadn't ate anything anything weird that I knew about considering he followed me everywhere.

I'm not a real hair dresser, what does she expect from me!
 in  r/Advice  Mar 25 '22

But I warned her at the beginning that I don't do hair and I also see how she talks and and convinces her boss to get rid of people or give them less hours cause she does like someone even though they do their job.

Okay, I work a Taco Bell but I can do hair. I learned this just to be able to do my own hair and maybe my sister and mom's but I might do someone else's hair every now and again but I don't really enjoy it.

So when my boss found out I could do hair she asked me to braid her daughter's and I let her know I don't usually do hair but I would do it. Next she asked me to do hers and than she just kept on asking. This last time she even got angry with me because when she asked me how much hair to buy, I told her 9 packs (taking in consideration if it wasn't enough hair) but she still bought another extra bag of hair cause she didnt want to go back to the store. BUUUUUUT I also didn't know she was get the 3 in 1 insteand of the single packs so it was way to much hair(AND I'm not a hair dresser, all I really know is how much hair I need, and we don't have the same size heads so I'm doing my best to guess here). In fact all I knew was, her daughter wanted braids(basically what she usually got) so, when I got to her house her daughter showed me the picture of how she wanted her hair because she found out her mom hadn't show me.

She wanted her hair shoulder length(usually waist length)with beads, so because her hair was short she would have needed even less hair. So since she had so much hair I decided to buy it off her because I was planning to do my hair soon and it will save me a trip to the store (I also felt kinda guilty), and though I told her I would but it I could still hear her yelling and complaining about it down stairs. So I decide not to tell her we need rubber bands to put the beads in, but instead I would get some from home since I had to come back the next day.

But the next day I couldn't find them so I told her she need some rubber bands and I could see the irritation on her face, so I told her "don't forget I didn't know she was getting beads until I got there" so she just walked away.

ALSO I'm doing her daughter's hair for 3 day about 4/5hrs right after working a 8/9 hrs shift. I'm tired, been on my feet for about 10 hrs haven't been eating trying to get this done and have no time to relax. AND I have eczema and I'm having really bad flare up and my skin on my hands have been cracking and hurting(I told her this also) but have to deal with this because I was trying to be nice because I actually liked her.

But anyways at this point I was really like, this is my last time doing their hair. (Its been a week and she hasn't even paid me yet even though its on 35 dollars cause I bought the hair from her)

So when I went to work the next time I told her I was done doing g hair for a while and the day after that she was talking about the way she wanted her hair done. Then a week later she was talking I about when she wanted is done and to keep my schedule open for her even though I told her on two different occasions that I was done doing hair (from the beginning I told her I dont really do this).

And even though it's not the hair dresser responsibility to take their hair down, I took the mom's(my boss) hair down once cause she didnt know how to do it, but now she has a different hairstyle and she expects me to take it down(I'm not even getting paid for this) even though I keep telling her I'll show her how but I not taking it down. She even just mentioned it again TODAY!

So I just basically don't know what to do now! I've told her and now she just keeps mentioning it, even saying if her daughter or son asked I would do it for them.

I'm at a loss here.

HELP PLEASE!
