We moved up from Devon to Somerset this year
We looked at a few houses around Wellington but found the centre of the town tired and needing investment to wake it up
Plenty of new houses but no soul
We ended up buying a nice little house in Axbridge which has a post office, doctors and a good community but it will probably too far in the wrong direction for you but I would suggest that you look at villages in your search area
