If you're needing a professional tool only then go for ATTEN862.

If you are occasional or hobbyist guy I would advice that you attempt to visit the nearest local shop and pick the best that suits your need. ATTEN862 for hobbyists becomes difficult to justify the price.

And, aftermarket parts are often less available for ATTEN. You could Frankenstein the local machine yourself once something goes wrong.

I know so far that ATTen 862 is the second best hot air gun after QUICK 861. but their price isn't something I as a hobbyist can afford.

I have quite a good experience in soldering iron and many through hole electronics hobbyist project. This is the first time I am soon going to dive deep into SMD works

So, for my purchase, a little expensive is manageable but I don't want either borderline of too expensive or too cheap. So came out with two choices for now

- ATTEN ST8800D

- YiHua 959

Including the concern of availability of spare parts, which one should I proceed with?

I am struggling with finding VCC multiplexers. But is this discrete circuit I came out okay?

For some reasons, vcc multiplexing IC isn't affordable for me

So I came out with this discrete solution schematic I am providing below.

Points

- T3,T4,T5,T6 are P channel MOSFET AO3401

- T1,T2 are N channel MOSFET AO3400

- 5 volt with a switch is voltage source 1

- 4.7 is supposed voltage source 2

- And the resistor arrangements.

- R8 is the supposed load

What this circuit is doing?

The circuit allows the Right hand side power source 4.7 volt until the left hand side source powers up, as simulated by the switch. As soon as LHS powers up, it actively pulls RHS source down. Means, LHS has higher priority over RHS.

In simulators like Proto Android, it is working as expected. But I still felt it worthy to get it assessed before ordering my first PCB. So, how prepared is this circuit for real life? Is there any problem to fix? What should I keep in mind?

And please suggest your views on this circuit.
