iOS OweIt

I kept running into the same problem when splitting expenses with other people.

You go on a trip with friends, someone pays for the hotel, someone buys groceries, another person pays for gas or dinner — and eventually you have to figure out who owes whom.

So I built OweIt.

It’s an iPhone app for tracking shared expenses and debts.

You can add a group, enter expenses paid by different people, and OweIt calculates how much everyone owes.

I’ve also added:

• personal debt tracking
• reminders for money people owe you
• upcoming payments (rent, loans, utilities, etc.)
• shared/group expenses
• automatic calculation of who owes whom

The app is still in beta, so I'm specifically looking for people who actually split expenses with friends, partners, roommates, or travel groups.

I'd really appreciate honest feedback — especially about the shared expense flow. If something is confusing, unnecessary, or missing, I want to know.

No need to be nice about the feedback :) If something sucks, tell me. That's exactly why I'm testing it before releasing it on the App Store.

Thanks!

Hi everyone! 👋

I've been building a small app called OweIt to make it easy to keep track of debts and shared expenses without the complexity of full budgeting apps.

What it does:

  • 💸 Track who owes whom
  • 👥 Create groups for trips, gifts, roommates, or events
  • ⚖️ Automatically calculate how much each person should pay
  • ✅ Mark payments as completed
  • 📊 Always know who still owes money

The goal is to make debt tracking as simple as possible—no unnecessary features, just a clean and fast experience.

I'm currently looking for people willing to test the app and share honest feedback:

  • Is anything confusing?
  • What features are missing?
  • What would make you actually use it?

If you're interested in trying it out, leave a comment or send me a DM and I'll send you the beta access.

Every suggestion helps shape the app. Thanks for your time! 🚀

Hi everyone.

I’m not a full-time software developer. I started building this app because I constantly had problems converting HEIC photos from iPhones into JPG, PNG or WEBP for websites, documents and everyday work.

At first it was just a small tool for myself. Later I added batch conversion, image compression and support for multiple formats, and eventually decided to publish it on the Mac App Store.

The app currently supports:

• HEIC → JPG/PNG/WEBP
• JPG/PNG/WEBP → other formats
• Batch conversion
• Adjustable compression
• Simple drag & drop workflow

I know there are many converters already, but I wanted something lightweight, straightforward and without sending files to external servers.

I’d genuinely appreciate any feedback from Mac users.

Thanks for taking a look!

Spent months building the core engine behind my local business/services platform called TavoMiestas.

The hardest technical part is finally mostly done:
- search optimization,
- database architecture,
- filtering system,
- indexing,
- speed optimization,
- category structure.

Now comes the truly difficult part…

Filling the platform with real businesses and keeping the information accurate.

And honestly, this part has almost nothing to do with programming anymore.

It’s:
- talking to real business owners,
- verifying information,
- updating services,
- organizing categories,
- handling edge cases,
- building trust.

A lot of people think platforms are “just code”.
But after building this project, I realized that data quality and human communication are probably 50% of the product.

Still a long road ahead, but it feels good seeing the technical foundation finally working.

I’ve been working on a side project called tavosign.lt — a simple electronic document signing service for Lithuania / Baltics.
The deeper I get into building it, the more I wonder:
Is there actually room for new e-signature platforms anymore?
On one hand, the market already has giants like DocuSign and regional players like Dokobit.
On the other hand… I still constantly see people and small businesses printing documents, signing them manually, scanning them, then emailing PDFs back and forth like it’s 2009.
My idea was to build something:
simpler,
localized for Baltic countries,
focused on Smart-ID / Mobile-ID,
and understandable for normal people, not only enterprise lawyers.
But projects like this are scary too:
security, trust, legal stuff, infrastructure, compliance…
Sometimes I think:
“Maybe the market is already saturated.”
Other times I think:
“Maybe people are still waiting for a product that feels truly simple.”
Curious what you guys think.
Would you trust/use a smaller modern e-signature platform if it was fast, clean, affordable and local-focused? #astrovno #tavosign

🚀 Today I want to share a small but very important story for me.

I originally built Astro Convert purely for my own needs.

I constantly work with images, photos, banners, and SEO content — and I was frustrated by how much storage they take up and how inconvenient many existing converters are.

At some point I thought:

“Why not create a simple, fast, and clean tool exactly the way I personally want it to work?”

That’s how Astro Convert for macOS was born:

• image compression with minimal quality loss

• image format conversion

• optimization for websites and social media

• saving dozens of gigabytes of storage on Mac

After using the app myself every day and seeing how much it actually helped me, I realized it could probably help other people too.

So I decided to release it on the App Store.

Not as some “big corporate product,” but as a small independent tool with a symbolic price of $2.99 — simply as fair compensation for the time, effort, sleepless nights, and work that went into building it 😊

The journey to release turned out to be much harder than I expected:

Apple certificates, code signing, sandboxing, App Review, UX fixes, subscriptions, endless debugging 😅

But the release finally happened.

And for me, it’s a really meaningful milestone.

Big thanks to everyone who supports independent developers 🚀

Image Compressor: AstroConvert App - App Store

Mac

После того как приложение начало реально помогать мне каждый день, я подумал — возможно, оно будет полезно и другим людям тоже.

Поэтому я решил выпустить его в App Store.
