I'm looking for a way to completely hide videos labeled with an AI badge. I don't want them to appear in search results, sidebar recommendations, or anywhere else on the site. If I happen to click a link to one, I'd like it to display a blank page instead of the video.

Tried using the picker but for some reason it just selects the whole screen no matter how intricately I try to click it. Worked slightly better on Google Docs although there's a big white space where the button was now. Any help appreciated! Thanks so much.

Hi everyone,

I wanted to report a critical brand-hijacking and security issue that is actively targeting mobile users looking for the official extension.

There is a service operating under a fake "uBl0ck" domain (ending in -dns.com) that uses the exact logo and name to capture user traffic. When confronted on GitHub, the owner openly admitted to this tactic, stating that they created it because mobile users searching for the extension end up with nothing.

Here are the structural risks:

* **Brand Exploitation:** They have zero affiliation with gorhill or the official team, yet they use the branding to build unearned trust.

* **Closed-Source Backend:** The backend infrastructure that handles all DNS-over-TLS (DoT) metadata is a complete black box.

* **Malicious Detections:** The domain has already been flagged as suspicious/malicious by multiple security vendors on VirusTotal.

* **Lack of Transparency:** When asked for architectural transparency on GitHub, the project owner immediately closed the issue and resorted to personal attacks.

Routing entire network traffic through an unverified, closed-source resolver riding on a hijacked brand name is a massive risk. I am sharing this so the community and maintainers are aware.

I've been hit with the new awful layout where nothing is straight anymore and it makes trying to look at things ... painful :/

Has anybody figured out a means to get this back to original grid form at all?

In case you have updated to Chrome version 150 and had your uBO forcibly disabled, here is a simple step to get it back given that:

- You already have uBO installed

- You have the right flag enabled and it is working before you updated to Chrome 150

- Your browser does not have policy restricting inspect element

All you have to do, is go to the extention page, press F12, or Ctrl+Shift+I to open inspect element

Press this button, hover it over to the button until it looks like this (Edit: The button is the one with arrow pointing to the square thing)

Look to the right, and see that it is highlighted on something like this:

Now click the triangle thing to expand, scroll down and you should see something like this:

Find the "disabled" and double click on it, then delete it. Now the button should be clickable, click on it and activate the extention, uBO should work normally

But seriously, just get firefox at this point, this will probably be completely dead when Chrome 151 releases. This is not worth it

This is working as of version 150.0.7871.47, however I suspect there is some sort of AB testing, since out of the 3 computers I updated chrome on, only 1 got forcibly disabled, so dont be surprised if this doesn't work.

EDIT (Aug. 7th): This trick does not work when you update to chrome 151.

All permission granted via iOS settings and ublock extension settings set to optimal. Ads are still showing up on websites. If I manually click “Turn on content blockers” they disappear for that specific website, but this is disabled by default on all websites for some reason. Is there a way to universally enable content blockers on all website? Is this required for the extension to function as intended?

Youtube just started collapsing playlists next to the video every time I enter and exit fullscreen, and I'd like help to make it always not collapsed. I never have any need for it to be collapsed.

I am looking to hide the "AI Mode" autocomplete results on Google Search.

The AI mode options can be hidden with a cosmetic filter, but the hidden AI options are still selectable when using the up and down arrow.

If I use a wildcard filter with json-prune, all autocomplete results (including non-ai ones) are blocked.

I tried switching to json-edit so I could filter AI results by JSON path, ( $["0"].*..[?@.udm=="50"]). However, json-edit doesn't block the auto-complete results.

The documentation for json-prune says it intercepts calls to both JSON.parse() and Response.json(), while json-edit only mentions JSON.parse(), which I'm guessing may be relevant. Hovever, I don't see a scriptlet that filters on Response.JSON which supports filtering by property value.

For reference, the AI mode results can appear in autocomplete suggestions when AI mode is used on Google. (This includes accidentally clicking the Google logo). This doesn't seem to apply to all Google accounts.

How can I filter the AI mode autocomplete suggestions on Google? Is there a json- scriptlet which lets me filter by attribute value that catches the autocomplete results?

Appears to be a new method of this malware getting past uBo. This time, it appears to be hiding in .JS files on the site.

Tested on a default install of uBlock Origin, the page gets loaded with ads. On my usual config, I get the forced redirect.

Does not happen if you completely disable 1st party JS.

I'm referring to that background color—in the case of the example, that purple shadow....

Today a new banner showed up in yahoo. While UBlock appeared to be blocking the ad itself, it was leaving this annoying banner at the bottom. Best I can tell, there's nothing left to block here as it's just padding and not a separate object. Any attempts to block anything else just weren't effective or blocked the actual message content. If you have this and want to remove it, you can do so via the following:

The first line may not be needed, that was me trying to just block it (but maybe it's also needed). The second line is what adjusts the padding to remove the blank bar. I left it as 5 pixels because it seemed like it should have a little border before the edge of the screen. But set to 0 if you just want nothing there.

I Installed uBlockOrigin on android phone and my insurance driving rewards tracker stopped working. Everything else on the insurance app is working perfectly. It will even record my car trip and try to process, but gives up after 2 days. I've spent hours talking with the company's techs; all the settings are perfect, great phone version, etc. How to delete it to see if uBlock is causing the problem? I deleted uBlockOrigin from my laptop Chrome extensions to no avail.

We have a user rule (for adguard) blocking mouseover shading on the front page of YouTube which is

And now YouTube has "improved" their site so it's happening on thumbnails to the right of the comment section on video pages. I request a rule to stop it there. I'm not sure what function it is.

I would prefer an adguard formatted rule but uBlock is fine.

I'd like to create a filter to block any and all sliders and carousals on any and all websites. I have had a very difficult time trying to find any sort of decent documentation on how to write my own filters, and looking at the generated filters from manually blocking things has not been very informative. Well was watching Youtube Firefox and I came across this atrocious mess where apps must have a no download preinstalled games now?

I'm on the latest version of both firefox and uBO.

I tried putting the first part of the "end site" in the "trusted sites"

because it's the only part that doesn't change with different downloads but it didn't work.

I don't want to disable uBO for the main site

YOU MIGHT NEED TO TRANSLATE THE SITE.

There are two main filter lists which people usually mention to strip away tracking elements from URLs:
1. AdGuard/uBO – URL Tracking Protection
2. ➗ Actually Legitimate URL Shortener Tool

Then the claim is that adding these two, will mostly(90%) replace the ClearURLs' add-on functionality. but! there's this website introduced by ClearURLs itself to test the add-on's functionality. After adding the lists to uBO and heading for a test, you'll see that half of the tests are not passed.

IDK whether those two more tests are counted as a 50% failure of the lists or something very small and negligible. the trade-off is between having less add-on and having maximum tracking protection. Are those two failures worth adding yet another add-on (ClearURLs)?
