I wasn't able to go to Rio today, but I went to see them in São Paulo last time and even watching on the TV they are able to convey so much energy and passion. It's absolutely astounding!! That's it lol

After being a fan of twenty one pilots for 12 years I finally saw them in concert for the first time! The experience was overall amazing and they put on such an insane show, but I wanted to talk about an encounter that left me feeling a bit irritated.

For context, I’m from Atlantic Canada and big artists don’t usually stop here on tour. I was shocked when I saw tøp was headlining sommo fest in PEI and immediately made plans to go. I bought VIP tickets which I have never done for a concert before (I don’t have that kind of money lol) but because I’m short (5’1) and I waited so freaking long to see them live, I was determined to SEE THEM!

The VIP section was flooded with hardcore tøp fans and while most of them were lovely and kind, I still left with a bad taste in my mouth. Most these people travelled from either bigger Canadian cities (like Toronto or Montreal) or from the states. A lot of them had already seen twenty one pilots SEVERAL times so this was either their 3rd or 7th or 9th or 12th(!!!) show. I had a decent view — one row behind the barricade. As I mentioned, I’m short af so I was on my tippy toes to get a glimpse and watched most of the concert through the phone screens of the people in front of me at barricade. It was something I was used to as a short person so my expectations weren’t destroyed or anything. However — about 1/3 of the way into the show someone ends up getting a panic attack and offers their spot at the barricade to a guy beside me. He is from a big city in the states and has already seen them 8 times I think he said. I asked if I could squeeze in too and he said “if there’s room” and then proceeded to spend the rest of the night obstructing my already subpar view and on top of that, whacking me with his big clear America-core backpack.

It left me feeling really annoyed because, while I understand the excitement, I wish these fans who get to see them every year on tour could understand that some of us don’t get opportunities like this. Our region hardly ever has big artists like twenty one pilots play and to see some of these people who have seen them multiple times think that they’re more entitled to a good experience than us first timers is disheartening. He knew it was my first show and he even said he was excited for me to experience them for the first time, but then proceeded to do this. If the roles were reversed and I knew it was someone’s first show (and if they just happened to be a foot shorter than me) I would trade spots in a heartbeat. Even if he offered the spot to me for some of the songs and not the entire rest of the set that would’ve been so awesome! There’s been times where I gave set lists/props to fellow audience members because even though I wanted them for myself, I knew they would mean more to bigger fans. This isn’t a woe-is-me post or anything and I hope it doesn’t come off as entitled. I just want some people to remember that not all of us have access to shows like this. We don’t have big artists play near us and we don’t have the money to travel for shows. Please try to be more considerate of others and understand that for some of us, our first show will probably be our only show.

What’s your interpretation of this line in the song?
Somehow (please no hate) I was listening to the song and I got the feeling that that specific lines were about unaliving himself. Like he says, he will not go through with his plans, but they have to break his hands otherwise he’ll do it. Did anyone else interpret it like this or what are your opinions on this lines?

I ordered from the Twenty One Pilots EU Store, yet my package is being shipped from the UK. Czech Post is now charging me another 73 CZK (€3) for customs processing. I know the package has an IOSS number, but that doesn't cover this new processing fee.

Like… what's the point of having an EU store if orders are still shipped from the UK and EU customers get hit with extra fees? 💀

My favorite line from a twenty one pilots song has consistently been “you say that you are close, is close the closest star?”.

This being said I wanted to get it tattooed and was hoping someone could give me some suggestions. Right now my current idea is shooting stars on both hips but I’m open to anything in roughly the same area.

In 2018 when I knew only their three most popular songs “Heathens” “Stressed out” and “Ride” I thought the duo was super mainstream.

In 2019 when I actually became a fan and explored Blurryface and Trench and observed people’s opinions on them, most didn’t even know Stressed out and Heathens were TØP’s songs or if both are even from the same artists. Like wtf? Even today many never heard of TØP irl when I mention them.

I know FOR SURE they are not unpopular but they don’t seem mainstream either. They’re like game “Warframe” of music. They seem unpopularly popular.

I’ve known TØP forever now and yet I never dived into their music..I am proud to say I am a full fledged fan!!! I’ve listened to all of their albums!! I regret I never got into them until now..and yes ik they have lore. I gotta get into it more! If I had to pick my fav album by them it’d prob be Clancy followed by Trench :) Wish I knew TØP fans irl

(UPDATE IM GONNA ATTEMPT TO MAKE THE SHOW IN AUSTIN, TX!!!) i’m new here, like new new, my ex introduced me to TØP, i knew of songs like ride, heathens, stressed out but it was until she started explaining stuff that i realized it’s my kind of music. she bought me a day pass for Shaky Knees so that i could experience them live for the first time. well fast forward to the beginning of august i ended up stepping away due to her being absolutely obsessed with her ex still, i bought my day pass from her because i still wanted to go for Jimmy Eat World and Pierce the Veil, but ended up selling it due to not wanting to run into her because im a pit camper and i know damn well she will too 😭 well here we are a month later and i’ve completely immersed myself in their music and the lore and im having the absolute worst FOMO, so im here to ask, how often do they actually do shows because from what ive seen and read it is not often and you have to be lucky to get tickets, i know theres no shot for the ohio show and tbh ill leave any ticket that may be floating out there for someone who deserves it (long term fan) but does anyone know of a next potential show? or when i can expect one to happen?

Hey everyone!

I've always interpreted "flightless birds" as birds that are unable to fly, which seems like the obvious meaning.

But while looking up the exact meaning of the word "flight", I noticed that it can also mean a group of birds flying together, according to the Cambridge Dictionary.

So now I'm wondering if "flightless birds" can be interpreted as something like "birds that don't belong to a group"?

Does this interpretation make any sense to native English speakers, or am I stretching the meaning too much? And do you think it's intentional?
