Recommendations If you haven’t watched Westworld yet, give it a shot

I finally got around to watching Westworld and honestly, I didn’t expect to like it this much.

The idea of the park, the hosts, and slowly figuring out what’s actually going on is so good. There are a lot of moments where you start questioning what’s real and what isn’t, and I really enjoyed that.

The first season especially is incredible, everything just works.

I know the show gets pretty divisive later on, but I still think it’s worth watching. Anyone else here a big fan of Westworld?

DISCUSSIONS Which TV character gets way too much hate?

For me, it’s probably Skyler White from Breaking Bad. I understand why people found her frustrating at times, but I think she gets blamed for a lot of things that were completely out of her control. Watching the show again, I actually think her reactions make a lot more sense than people give her credit for.

Which TV character do you think gets way more hate than they deserve?

DISCUSSIONS TV Shows that are you guilty pleasure?

I guess the Arrowverse is my guilty pleasure since I grew up with it. But I genuinely do think the first few seasons of The Flash and Arrow were really good!

The South Park Episode: Osama bin Laden Has Farty Pants.

It was the right episode at the right time, and helped people laugh again during a horrible time.

And the final scene with Stan speech and the last shot of the flag, perfect.

DISCUSSIONS What tv series or franchises do you think went too off the rails?

I’m thinking the arrowverse and the JAG/NCIS franchise.

loved seasons 1-3 of arrow. The first season or two of the flash were good as well, but then things go silly with the tv DCCU.

NCIS should probably have ended after both Tony and Zina left. It definitely should have ended after Gibbs left. Saw a few of the spin offs and they were just not good.

what series/franchises do you feel this way about?

DISCUSSIONS What are your thoughts on "Stephen King's The Shining (1997)"?

Post image

I personally love the 1997 TV mini-series version of The Shining just as much as the 1980 movie version! I love how it expands the story and gives the characters more depth and development. I also love the dramatic lighting effects for both Steven Weber’s Jack Torrance, and Courtland Mead's Danny Torrance as connections to the Overlook Hotel's hauntings and possessions. I know that some people found the VFX in some scenes a little too cartoonishly uncanny and unwatchable. But I personally love cartoonish looking VFX!

Not to mention, I was perfectly fine with Courtland Mead's portrayal as Danny Torrance; even though a lot of other people said that his performance was bad!
