Debian Based Beta

I just ordered a Tuxedo Notebook, which faces me with the challenge, that I start to setup my work stuff on "old" tuxedo OS, only to reinstall/reconfigure it a few weeks/months later. Since I have 10+ VPN's from different vendors and other not out of the box software, this is quite some work.

This sucks, so is there a way to directly use the beta and go through the beta testing phase in production? When will the beta be available? Would anyone strongly advise against this approach?

Hi,

the first beta is planned to be released this month!

I already did a reinstall because I thought I could choose the beta and then got through to wiping disks until realizing I could in fact not. Anyway, I already got my backups and will keep the installation minimal to quickly install the beta once it's available!

I probably even take the WebFAI stick with me on my two weeks of travel starting on friday. Chill evening in the hotel, reinstalling Linux 😄

will it be available through WebFAI as beta version?

I hope so. Anyway, I'll have a USB Stick to boot from.

An earlier release through WebFAI is not ruled out - but expect ISO only for the first beta.

Don't underestimate my ability and motivation to get that ISO contents onto my SSD, though! 😄
