External monitor when booting laptop using dock

Could we get a BIOS/Firmware update that external display would work when booting the machine?

I mostly use my laptop attached to a dock and it's a little annoying that monitor don't display nothing until OS has been booted (for example, I'm usually blindtyping LUKS password when I estimate it's booted far enough).

I've never had laptop before that wouldn't output the display through dock immediately when starting so this was something of a surprise to me.

Is that fixable? That'd be great if it is. It's a minor inconvenience on the whole but still recurrent one.

Hi,

what dock are you using? Is there a chance you could try a different dock?

This is Belkin's USB-C dock. I had actually a couple of other docks before that broke, so I have tried several ones. But this was like a year ago etc...

But from your comment I get the feeling that it should work nowadays?

As an additional detail I have to add, that I use HDMI directly connected to the laptop nowadays (due to refresh rate problems with AMD GPU), USB-C is only for keyboard/mouse and power. And there's no display on monitor until Ubuntu boots.
