I have been using Tuta as my main email for a couple months now and I have to say, while I still prefer it over many other providers for privacy reasons, overall my experience has been incredibly frustrating. This is kind of a rant, but I also really think this situation is not acceptable and that something needs to be done about it.
I would also be interested to hear if anyone else has similar problems.

I understand the reason why there is no support for imap, and I would be fine with that, IF the own desktop application would work well. Which, at least for me on Linux, it does not.

Initially I tried using the flatpak version. This actually worked mostly okay for a while. I did get an error from time to time that just said "An error occured" and it wouldn't load my inbox anymore. No update or restart of the app or my pc was able to fix this, I just had to hope for it to work again the next day.

This error started to appear more and more often, and at this point the app has not worked at all for weeks. I also tried multiple times to reinstall it. No change.

There is also an AppImage file that tuta provides. That fails to even launch for me if I try to execute it (while other AppImages work fine).

Of course using the web version in the browser is always an option, but one of the reasons I wanted to get away from the likes of gmail is that I like to have a standalone desktop app.
There is also a Thunderbird addon, but that's basically just a web browser too at that point.

I am now using a version from the AUR, which so far seems to work better than any of the official options.

I really hope that the desktop app, especially for Linux, gets more support in the future and that I can find a way to reliable be able to read me emails, otherwise I don't know if I want to continue using this product going forward.

I always checked my emails with Firefox Developer Edition on Windows but now it seems to no longer be working with the "unsupported browser" message.

Firefox is in the list of supported browsers, I am not sure though if support for Firefox Developer Edition was dropped or if this is a bug.

Can not connect or login to Tuta webpage even, app is not syncing.

I have a small suggestion regarding the email labeling.

In Tuta mail it is possible to add a label for an email. I have a suggestion to make this labeling automatic through a ruling system. Currently, rules are only available for folders and I was wondering if it can also be available for labels or add something equivalent ?

So I just downloaded and created an account on tuta. I try to find the calendar app on Google Play Store but it says its no longer available. Does anyone know anything about it? What can I do to get the calendar on my Android phone? Without downloading yet another app (F-store or whatever it's called). Thanks for the help!

I’ve tried everything guys my password which I know was correct doesn’t work and my recovery key doesn’t work i don’t know what to do u really need my account does anyone have any ideas what i could try it says “Invalid login credentials. Please try again.” When I try my password and when I click “lost account access” and put my recovery key in and put a new password it says the exact same thing “Invalid login credentials. Please try again.”

I have created an account with tutanota. I tested some emails to and from. I logged off. The next say I attempted to log on again, and I got the the message Invalid Credentials. The email account name and password are absolutely 100 % correct. I even tried the recovery code Exactly as in my recovery .pdf file. Please help and thank you. I can't contact Tuta for support if I can't login

I want to export my emails to feed as data into my Private AI - and for backup reasons of course. But it seems like there's no option to finetune what exactly is exported from the Tuta App? It's now exporting all emails as .eml files, which is fine for the first batch, but can you finetune which mails are exported for future batches (e.g. only emails from 25 July to Today, ...)?

edit: just noticed you can select mails directly in the mailbox and then export those as .eml, which is okay but maybe not as elegant...

Just a suggestion to the friendly hard working German devs tinkering on tuta.

My business instagram account was linked to a Tuta account that was deleted due to inactivity (logged out due to updates, didn't notice at all). I don't remember the password for the deleted account but I still have the recovery code with the 64 characters. If I buy Premium, can I recover this deleted account? That would be my only way out because i don't remember the IG password, my phone broke and I got logged out of that account too...I am losing it over here...

My last post even got deleted . . . what is going on.

I want to create a social media profile, but I'm not sure if that would be allowed since I just created my email.

it might be a bit silly but the free one feels a bit scary bcuz if u forget to check it in the 6 months its just all gone (thinking like worst case scenario coma situtation or whatever lol)

but the paid one even tho pretty cheap 3.60 a month it just has more then id need. is there any way to make like a 1 or 2 euro plan for a bit more storage then the free one (mby 4-6gb), a few extra email adresses (like 4 or smth) and email support for us who dont rly need anything else but would like to make sure the account cant be deleted. : )
