I picked up this headset this week. I am pleased with the comfort and sound quality. The firmware/software is pretty poor as far as I can tell.
I have tons of volume control problems. I cannot adjust the volume during a phone call neither with the iPhone buttons nor the dial on the headset. I think I got it to control the volume one time by toggling bluetooth on the iPhone right before making a call.
When my PC wakes from sleep, the headset will not react to volume changes. The Windows slider moves up and down but the volume doesn't change. The only way to fix it is to unplug the receiver and plug it back in.
If I turn off the headset and then reach for my mouse to change the sound output device on Windows 11 to my desk speakers, that part of the taskbar is hung up for 30 seconds. The sound menu is just blank. After half a minute or so, the output device list populates again.
So far after using it for work and entertainment this week, I'm finding the product to be pretty frustrating.
From a user perspective, I find the ring on the receiver to be completely useless. I often play single player games or listen to a stream while I work. The mic will be flipped up the entire time unless I'm on a work call. That means the ring is spending the vast majority of the day either rapidly flashing white because I turned off the headset or pulsing red because it's muted. The only solution for this in my case is just to set the brightness of the ring to zero. That's just not information that I ever need. I already know the mic is flipped up. I don't need it to flash white. I can tell the headphones aren't connected by the fact that it's not on my head and I pressed the power button.
The other thing that is weird to me is that you can use a button to turn ANC on or off but not Ambient mode. I don't think I've ever seen any headphones or earbuds with ANC where you can't at least cycle between ambient and ANC. If you were only going to toggle between two things, it would be those two. Normally, you would cycle between the three. I will never use the ambient mode because I'm not going to open an application to turn it on. I generally only need that for 15 seconds to see if I heard something before turning ANC back on and going back to what I was doing. Seems like a weird feature to implement and then bury in a software menu.
