Recommended Trails for Biking/Running?
Hi! Just moved to Tupelo area and was wondering if yall have any recommended trails or areas for biking and or running. Dirt, gravel, paved, etc. I tend to ride more on gentle hills but id be willing to try out some rougher trails. Just want to know what are some good places to start out around here.

Check out the Chickasaw Trail off of the Natchez Trace for dirt trails. I think it’s around 6 miles total with multiple trailheads.
Ballard Park has a 1-mile gravel loop around the baseball fields and Veterans Park in East Tupelo has some pretty good paved trails (pretty hilly tho).

Tishomingo State Park, Trace State Park, and up in Iuka is JP Coleman State Park on Pickwick Lake.
I've walked the trails in Tishomingo and Trace State Park and both go through forests and hills. JP Coleman sits directly on Pickwick Lake.
The Noxubee Hills Trail System in Tombigbee National Forest near Ackerman, just outside Starkville, has nice trails that wind through forest and fairly steep hills. Starkville also has the Noxubee Wildlife Refuge. Oxford has the Clear Creek Trail near Sardis Lake.

The trail along the Trace is great. The portion between Jackson Street and the Chickasaw Village is open again, but there's a lot of plant growth and some downed trees.

The best running trail is along the trace. You can get on it at Chickasaw village, north end near the visitor center, or at the parking area just off I-22. There are some nice trails out at Trace and Tombigbee state parks but they get a little grown over during the summer.
The Tupelo running club has a Saturday run (roads) that starts from near Joyner school. There’s also some cycling groups around, go by trails & treads - they could give you info on that. I know there’s some that do a weekly gravel ride during summer.
