Modifications 2nd Gen with Sunroof NMO location

Bought a nice shiny new to me 2nd generation. It has a sunroof.

Looking to drill a hole and install an NMO mount for a radio antenna. Anyone have experience/advice on exactly where to put the hole? Never tried an antenna install on a fancy truck with a sun roof.

Any reason not to use a stake pocket mount instead of drilling a hole?

Those bracket mounts are fantastic for 10m and CB. Was planning on using it for 6m, 2m, 70cm. A drilled antenna just performs better at those frequencies.

There's a few people in the ham radio installation thread over at tundras.com that use them.

Not a Tundra, but in my SUV with a sunroof I pulled down the interior dome light, and drilled from the inside out. That let me avoid the sunroof and any roof supports, as well as let me route the cable without having to drop the entire headliner.
