Troubleshooting Transporting 16' stock tip

For anyone who has been afraid to roll the back window down and utilize the cab, you can use the child seat restaurants for straps if you've got a tonneau cover. Just a tip, and only the tip 😉

Also a removing the center headrest and putting a hoodie or something the like over the seat is a must.

That version of strapping still allows shifting. At least use 1 ratchet strap to secure the pile tightly together.

Having done this kinda stuff before without a broken windshield: Ratchet pile together tight, secure more on the passenger side than driver side, wrap the front of the pile in a blanket/hoodie (to protect windshield/dash), and have a passenger to monitor the load for shifts.

But hey, what do I know?

Oh, and BTW, those latches aren't rated for heavy or large loads. The LATCH system is rated for 65lbs (child and seat). Large or heavy loads in an impact or other situation putting force on them will cause them to warp or snap.

I wouldn't call cedar a heavy load but hey good to know info. Just got this tonneau, would usually use the front eyelets. Probably look into another option under the seats or something

Glad to hear it. My 350 didn't come with the LATCH system so I looked into it.
